I am in the wrong fecking trade.

We are presently redesigning our gardens adding driveways and car parking so the rather large buddha house assembly had to go.

The missus told me we had to get a special person in to perform a religious ceremony before it was moved.

So a couple of apparently certified guys turned up yesterday morning, set up a table with food and ribbons and other religious stuff, chanted for an hour and then left without the buddha house which my wife then moved and donated to some charity group.

1 hour chanting for 10.000 baht seems like a good job with a fantastic return to me.

I can strongly recommend Rutnin as opposed to upcountry doctors for eye issues.
A few years ago I experienced an increased number of floaters in one. I went to the two local private hospitals. One gave me pills and told me to eat more vegetables the second gave me different ills and told me not to worry.
At this time I only a thin silver of light coming into my eye.
A trip down to Bangkok I was operated on the same day for a detached retina - an uncomfortable 2 hour procedure

    Rutnin saved my sight.
I I had gone there straight away I would have saved many 10s of thousands of baht
I now go down every year for a check to see that all is still OK with the retina - cost between 1000-2000 baht. Money well spent im my opinion

Possible. I don't feel like I am using the screens or reading much more than I was at work. However there are fewer interruptions and it is possible I sit here longer than I should. I am making an effort to fire up the laptop, do what needs doing then shut it down again. The doc suggested no more than 20 minutes on followed by at least 20 minuts off.

    My nap time.

There are alternatives to buying a pair of those glasses.

There may be an Eye Comfort Shield setting on your mobile phone. There is one on mine. Bedtime Mode is also available on some devices. For a desktop computer or laptop, f.lux works in a similar way.

Yes, I do. I don't run the aircon so the dogs can wander in and out. Maybe I'll kick the annoying little animals outside. (Only joking. They are too used to coming and going as they please. They'll only scratch the door to shreds.) Anyway, interesting and I might try moving the fan behind me. Thanks.

Yes, there is a blue light filter on my Samsung which is switched on. I don't do bedtime mobile, although I usually read some old fashioned printed text. There are no cute puppies performing amusing tricks but I find that it suits me.

    I shall investigate f.lux. Thanks

FWIW, cheap yellow-tinted sunnies do the same job. Yellow lenses block out blue light.

Fair suggestion, although I am not a biker and never a willing passenger. I fell off a Honda 50 about 50 years ago and have ever since stayed far away from the things. Still enjoy MotoGP.

I prescribe a week at the beach. Your problem may be inflammation from dust and I fixed mine that way after staying in Manila. Can't hurt to try, anyway.

Restaurants all over BKK opened to sell alcohol legally today but by 6pm most had shut due to some SHA thing no one can get. All the Brit bars, even Wine Connection. It was easier to get a beer in BKK last week before the opening

My dog brought home a piece of fresh raccoon pelt and placed it at the back door this morning. Countdown for him bringing home some big stink when the critter breaks down and he gets into it.

So it's fully legal for restaurants to serve alcohol now!

    But the restaurants can't open.

There's a comedy sketch in there somewhere.

Depends how desperate one is. Desperate for a drop. Borderline or full blown alcoholic…

I am not doing a lot more reding, the doc says that it is simply aging. We all know there are parts of us that don't perform quite as well as they used to, so I am instructed to read less.

This is disappointing. I was hoping it would be an illness that modern medicine could fix. It isn't, it is just getting older, there's no fix.

On the plus side, there will be fewer short stories from the ricelands appearing on TD.

Now, WTF am I going to do all day? (Rhetorical question, I'll not be logging on to read all the witty answers.)
Optrex Actimist from Boots or Lazada. You spray it onto your eyes, not into your eyes.

When I get towards the end of a long work trip I seem to spend more and more time online shopping, out of boredom mainly to help pass the long night shifts.

A few nights ago I decided to get our dogs mats to sleep on during the winter... six dogs so six mats, each a different colour.

They arrived yesterday and Maya got the pink one, I guess because she's a bit of a girly girl.

    Yep... after just one night...

    ^ Winter...Thailand???

Is probably what she was thinking too

Here's what 650 quid buys you from a Welsh puppy farm nowadays...so the vet reckoned

I bought him for my daughter as a birthday present off some shifty guy off the Internet, whom I went and met and bought it out of the boot of his car, as you do.
I called him when I got home, was gonna ask him what food he had given me but he'd turned his phone off Was worried he may have been stolen.

The mutt got a clean bill of health at the vets anyway and his microchip was fine, had his second load of jabs this week and he's bright as a button, sits and gives his paw already and is superb on the puppy pads.

Nearly called him Mendy, always stroking his 3 card trick
Try and guess what 2 breeds he is.
