Technically it does when one uses the phrase ‘all’ in an argument.
Good point . . .
Me too, especially when you calculate the cost difference.
Less than average, judging by the score.
Getting old sucks.
I have had some eye trouble recently. Bloodshot eyeballs, red enough to scare the children.
Two eye doctors can find no significant issues, seems it is down to 'dry eyes' and 'eye strain' attributed to reading and writing, books or screens or both. I am not doing a lot more reding, the doc says that it is simply aging. We all know there are parts of us that don't perform quite as well as they used to, so I am instructed to read less.
This is disappointing. I was hoping it would be an illness that modern medicine could fix. It isn't, it is just getting older, there's no fix.
On the plus side, there will be fewer short stories from the ricelands appearing on TD.
Now, WTF am I going to do all day? (Rhetorical question, I'll not be logging on to read all the witty answers.)
^ Were the docs any good? Maybe worth a check up at Rutnin.
Anyway, for my daily moan. Couple of weeks ago went into the bathroom for a late night pee (sigh, aging), to see a f*ck off big cockroach perched happily on my damn toothbrush. Ick. Threw away all the toothbrushes, and broke out new ones. Thought I would get some cases or covers for them. Looked around on the web, some travel cases, those nasty little plastic head covers, and some very nice bamboo tubes for storing toothbrushes. Cool. Seemed environmentally sound, better than plastic, and only 47 baht. Ordered 6. After 2 weeks realized they were still not here, so followed up. God damn things are being sent from China, and had just cleared customs. China! How it makes any economic sense to get 50 baht tubes sent from China is beyond me. Plus, any ecological benefit I was trying to obtain by not buying plastic must be completely wiped out by the carbon footprint generated by shipping them.
It reminded me of something on a show called "the good place", which posited that society was so complicated that it was impossible to do anything "good" that did not have greater unintended "bad" consequences.
Good advice from Nid, please get it checked at Rutnin. Could be Uveitis, Glaucoma or a side effect of another illness. "Country doctors" are not particularly good at specialist areas so go to the specialists - trip to BKK for a few days and make Mendip jealous
Thanks to all for the concern and feedback. If you didn't get a green it is only because I have none to give you.
The first eye doctor I saw locally works his day job as an eye surgeon at the government hospital. He assured me there was no infection or inflammation or other underlying problem. Still I wasn't seing any significant improvement so a friend at the hospital gave me the details for a well reputed doctor in Udon Thani.
The second doctor also focuses on eyes.
She has good English and some modern looking kit. I saw her twice with a blood test in between that showed everything normal. The gf thinks this is the only part of me that is normal. On the second visit she pressure tested the eyes and both were 17, I don't know what that means but she says it is fine. I don't like that test where they poke your eye with a jet of air. She had a smart gun which was much less discomfiting.
She says the optic nerve is fine, there is no sign of any underlying condition and the redness is going away. She advised me to use some more expensive, higher viscosity eye drops and keep away from the computer and phone screens. Which I am doing. A bit.
All that said, I still have some discomfort that I never had before so I think I'll wait for an opportunity to join Mendip on an essential few nights in Bangkok some time soon. Then I can try Rutnin and see if they agree.
#1 -- Spotify
I've got something in the order of 500+ songs on it so why does it insist on only shuffling through the same 50-100

Starting to get a bit too chilly for me daily swim
You could really dive in from the top board at your place.
Shutree, Is it possible that you simply don't blink much when you are using the computer and reading ? I find I don't move my body much, and have to get up very regularly.
With children, holidays are generally more exhausting than normal weeks.
'Normal' depends on the cornea's thickness. 17 may be normal for 'normal' cornea but is very high if you have thin cornea - she should do more tests.
Yup, the normal ones are really just saline
Time for you to come back to NZ and experience the warm waters of the Hauraki Gulf . . .
