Tour d'France 2021 is done and no mention of it on the main US national news outlets. Toughest athletes in the world. Argghhhh. Glad NBC put the daily stage highlights on YouTube at least.
^ we get no coverage of the tour in Canada also, couple highlights.

Firstly, thanks for the kind words received about the grand niece. The doctors managed to identify the blood disease today, it is Melioidosis Melioidosis - Wikipedia
Apparently it is common in NE Thailand and we are guessing she caught it from the pigs on the farm. They are those small pigs with the black stripes and she adores them; she plays with them every day after school and hygiene is difficult to enforce on a 9 yr old.
Anyway, she is now on a course of antibiotics that will be followed by another 6 month course of tablets to clear it up. There is no link to the growth they removed from her back or the new lump, the biopsy is due in another couple of days, but it's quite possible they are abscesses caused by the disease.
Fingers crossed this is the cause and treatment goes well.
That sounds like a relief
Just to be clear, the bacteria is a soil and water dwelling bacteria. Pigs can get infected, but it is not likely that they transmitted it. It will have been picked up from the soil or water.
Indeed. Nasty disease, make sure they keep on top of it.
All the best to your girl, Troy.
Apologies, didn't mean to hijack the thread, just having a moan really.
Feel free to moan...
Covid means we are staying in Germany a little longer, mainly so I can support the family better during a very hard time. Now wifey wants to change car and change apartment, neither of which is going to be cheap.
The good news about the grand niece is that cancer is negative, the bad news is that ultra sound has found two more lumps inside the rib cage. They operate on the one on the neck tomorrow. The others they hope will disappear with antibiotics.
My moan is about Covid preventing me going to see grand niece in Thailand and preventing me to see my dad in the UK. WTF are the UK not recognising vaccinations not administered by the NHS?
Just your everyday insular and parochial society, who don’t trust people. I have run into this issue too, but insignificant plebs don’t matter. Their infrastructure has limitations which will bite them in the ass later.
The UK lacks due diligence when it comes to tracking and controlling anyone outside their immediate sphere of influence.
This is for Troy.
It's from the Daily Mail, so don't put your hopes up!

Why, just why are 95% of my mosquito bites on my fucking feet??
If there is a more annoying place i have yet to find it.
I woke up to rain and changed my plans for the afternoon. 5 minutes later the rain stopped and I saw a wedge of blue sky, so I got on the phone and changed my plans back. Of course the heavens opened within the hour.
