The wife left for a 10 day holiday in France with her friend while the husbands work to finance the trip...not so bad as she deserves it, having to suffer me when I come home from work every day.

Anyway, she has just posted pictures of the farm 'hotel' where they are staying tonight and the steak dinner and lovely ice cream dessert. I came home knackered and drooled over them while eating some olives and a packet of crisps.

The football is on at 9pm and I want to sleep as I have an important meeting at 9:30 tomorrow morning. Normally I'm up at 04:30 and ready for work at 6am but I'm gonna have to trash that idea...another compromise, watch until half time and then decide whether to continue and "wing it" at the meeting or sleep on an England loss in a semi final.

With everything shut, travel so difficult and wet afternoons I'm struggling to keep he daughter occupied during her school hols.

Today I introduced her to Monopoly, her fist time ever... and she's bladdy fleecing me.

She's got Park Lane and Mayfair, the brown set and the purple set. She's also got two out of three of loads of other sets, three stations and both utilities. I've been landing on nothing apart from bladdy 'Income tax' and keep losing my 200 quid for passing go.

I have got the green set and am keeping quiet about the advantages of building houses... this is my only chance of beating her.

We're having a recess for the night and tomorrow I hope to take her down.
