Really sorry to hear that . . . news has it, though, that many more MIQ spots will be available soon.

Damn that is a ballache, sorry to hear that.

So what's the process? Book flights then MIQ or vice versa?

Big right toenail has been a pain for five or so years. Spurs on the outside and ingrowing on the inside despite doing all the right things to prevent. Decided to start again and had it taken off about three years ago (painless...except for the most painful injections I've ever had either side of the base of the toe to deaden it). Anyway it is back to its old ways and after experiencing several episodes of very painful minor knocks decided to operate with deadly intent today. Started by soaking the foot in water way too hot at the start but ended up with a good ten minute soak. Then operated. These were the deepest pieces either side. Despite the pain of digging them out the toe already feels less tense if that makes sense. Wife has applied some disinfectant and apart from taking one of the Labs to the vet this morning I've deemed today a lazy one.

The sophisticated NZ government may want to take a look at a third worlds, Thailand, efficient "Getting into Thailand" system. Application, requirements and approval.

As many retuning to Thailand agree, the Thai Embassy staff, in many foreign countries, have responded quickly and very helpfully.

    One wonders how the

Who knows--it's not like they would look at available and suitable resources / locations or anything--probably destined to forever remain a mystery.

In NZ all in managed isolation

Doesn't it get tiring always heaping shit on 'the west' with snide remarks . . . and then being shown to be an idiot. Again and again . . . from Mainland China, having lived in Canada and the UK - did he have as tough a time growing up as Taxidriver? Is that why he is so angry about 'the west' all the time?

Looks like he could do with a spell at re-education camp, ohno.

That'll show him how to correctly ascertain how well countries are doing re COVID.

Or maybe, just maybe, the two countries have too little in common for any revealing comparisons to be made?

From 20/03/20 until 17/04/21 NZ cumulative deaths led Thailand's by miles.

From 17/12/20 when Thailand opened its borders more widely, Thailand's cumulative 4deaths grew faster until on 15/04/21 surpassed NZ.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Deaths - Statistics and Research - Our World in Data

Which should have been a warning bell for NZ to plan appropriate capacity, if and when it opened its borders more widely.

Hence, the outcome for our TD member and his family.

The administration of/available flights/quarantine rooms and their delivery is now exactly the same.

The fact that Thailand delivered a solution 6 months ago and NZ failed, is now a fact, to happynz and his family.

The questions are, why are the flights being cancelled, why are the no rooms available, and who is responsible?

There's a rather obvious reason why NZ didn't have any quarantine arrangements 6 months ago.

Maybe you should just stop being such a richard on a thread not suited to it?

    My apology.

It is deaths"" not "cases". I have revised #8268.

My discussion is regarding the problems a TD poster experienced, trying to return to NZ, with his family.

All the more time to prepare, which from one poster's experience they failed to.

Ah, but on the 18th of April 2020 between 18:53 and 18:56 NZ had point seven times the cases that Thailand had - ergo sum = Asia is better than the monopolkapitalstikpigdogs, eh OhNo

    Shit...
I had a number of flights scrapped at the beginning of the outbreak. With KLM, if I cancelled I got a 1 year credit (which has probably expired so I will have lost that), BUT, I was told if THEY canceled, they would refund the price.

Fingers crossed for you as they canceled (I know it is not KLM, but they may have the same type of policy).

I cancelled and got fully refunded from Emirates within 10 days.

Apparently Qatar is also pretty good on refunds.

Just make sure you book direct with airlines with a credit card.

I've just learned to my surprise that SG are taking bookings for as late as mid-Nov.

Not sure how confident I'd be booking this far out all things considered though.

Being asked what is the opposite of opposite, and having to use google. And still not being sure. :/

On the upside the kid's been sent to their room, so it is nice and quiet.

    Decent moan that

My moan for today in typically British fashion is naturally the fooking weather.

Hail stones rained down on me today whilst on my bike in the back of beyond.
Fortunately I was prepared with waterproof attire this time.

I fear Blighty will not have a Summer this year.
