Any particular country you are referring to?

'pedestrian crossings' in Thailand are only recognised places to send ambulances to.

Reminds me of a story a friend of a friend told years back.

8 geezers from the UK took 2 hire cars from England and swapped them for back packs full of the finest Atlas Mountains Hashish and brought it back to the UK.

Fvck knows what happened to that motley crew.

My moan for the day is ....wait for it... no moan

Oh wait...still can't give out repo to you fine outstanding members of TD.

Lockdown is quite likely to be extended, while it is certainly necessary and Mongolia could possibly go back to 0 local cases if it works, the idea of another month without speaking to a soul in person is a little depressing. I also still hate online teaching with a passion.

    Hello bangkok.

Could managers of shops, malls' department stores etc.
realise that us oldies rely on handrails to ascend and descend your stairs.
Those of you that do please understand that blocking them off with kiosks etc defeats their purpose.

You're excused . . . and need to realise that not everyone who posts here still lives here or has lived in Thailand

Local Tesco again...no mushrooms, melons, thick bread, eggs, ice cream and glass cleaner (the last one a specific request by the wife). Had to do a quick trip to Nan Makro and Big C this afternoon as we have several homestay groups in the next few days that can select an English style breakfast.

In Vancouver motorist must give way even if the person is crossing with no official pedestrian crossing.

I'm sure that's in every western country's highway code; the alternative is not to give way, and speaking of Thailand...

    Ho Ho Horseshit.

We now can't go into the front garden in the evening without spending it with 3 meter Frosty the Twatman waving at us.

    For the next month.

Anyone know if a garden shears or Stanley knife is best for circumcising inflatable snowmen?

Saturday night was going to be just me and the missus (the boy was off doing something), and she decided she fancied steak for dinner. Not got a long history in cooking steaks, but just starting out and learning, and results are getting better each time. It is a fairly steep learning curve, and look at videos of chefs and ten chefs will have 10 different ways. Oil in the pan,, oil on the steak, liberally use butter to baste - never add butter, marinade, never marinade. Sigh.

So, I have a couple of thick cut (4cm) Cape Grim ribeyes in the freezer. Thought it would be a good time to take one of those out for a spin. Started thawing early in the afternoon, and thought nothing more about it until time to start preparing (no marinade).

Head into the kitchen to find a thin steak "patty" sitting on the bench. Apparently the missus had decided, completely on her own, that it might be difficult for me to cook a thick steak, so she smooshed it thinner to make it easier for me.

    Bless.

I hear that raw steak is good for a black eye.
