Also ready to hit the road internationally.
Moan: People who sit next to each other in the office yet yell at the top of their lungs to communicate.

    A kids teacher's affliction.

Especially for the lost souls who can't 'switch gears' anymore.

Everyone wears masks, though as of today it isn't compulsory anymore as there haven't been any c-19 cases for three weeks

My 100% genuine fake imitation plastic Nardi wheel coming apart.

You just can't buy good quality counterfeit products these days!

Edit: fixed with some off-brand Thai Super Glue.

All that attention to detail and you can't restore a rusty turn signal arm? Or is that thing three on the tree?

Turn signal arm... And yeah, hadn't even realised it was in that condition until the pic to be honest.

Another job to the list after I've murdered some backpackers or whatever. Because white interior?

So I consider myself relatively handy with the tools, know my way around most things, so when we moved to the new place first order of business was putting up the bar TV and a towel rail -- the latter of which took me all of 5 min. It just fell off the wall because I'd somehow managed to put one end upside down.

Contemplating this fail I just went outside and noticed the TV at the bar was dirty and needed a clean so grabbed a cloth and some product and went to tilt it down to help with the process. Wouldn't budge but would tilt up because, yep, I somehow managed to put the bracket upside down.

In my defense I did both with a stonking hangover.

Impressive . . . one day I'll regale TD with my handyman exploits . . . except for painting at which I have reached the heady heights of sub-par mediocrity.

You've been paying attention. Today comes the sand distribution on the driveway to refill the gaps left by water-blasting away the weeds that have grown between the bricks over winter.
Then . . . I get to do some prep-work proposal for a Canadian company that wants to venture into Asia. They're on the other side of you, though in Quebec.

I'll try my best not to.

Home ownership is tough, isn't it. Oh, sorry. You'd have to own one to know.

So, when are you going to show up with your education qualifications and details?

Shouldn't you be posting this in your very own "Every thread" thread?

    ANTS!

With more than a million of these fcukers per human, no surprise they get everywhere and nothing is safe. Yesterday they sneaked into my sealed plastic bag to get at the bread; yes the same precious bread from Central, bastards. I followed the trail all the way to outside back of the kitchen, so to do this their scouts first had to sniff it out, then navigate a long route through kitchen up and over the counter, into a large bowl, up and into the paper bag, and then squeeze into what was obviously not a properly sealed plastic bag; it had a bubble at one end. Quite a feat, and credit where due they came from at least 10 meters away as the crow flies.

    Anyway I tried an experiment.

Seeing as they got into what I thought was a sealed plastic bag, I decided to test their acumen and must say am thoroughly impressed.

So I left the sealed bag with them inside, untouched, and 3 more pieces of bread (about a whole slice) next to the bowl:

1 - on an open tray for all comers
2 - open on a plate with a couple of small obstacles forcing diversions to reach the spoils
    3 - open but with a moat.

No cheating, what do you think happened?

Few hours later, they had completely deserted the plastic bag and were swarming over the easiest spoils in the open tray. A couple of strays were poking around on stash 2, and 3 as expected was untouched.

Why they abandoned what they already had access to in the plastic bag is beyond me.

New regime, bread bowl will hereafter be on a tray surrounded by ocean.

    My contribution to science.

I figure the original bag foragers took their loot home, and on their next run were guided by others to the easier pickings.

I have a couple of books on the study of ants from the 1920/30s. Fascinating experiments are included on ant foraging and communication.

Peppermint oil mixed with water and sprayed around the house is another safe method of keeping ants at bay.

I've seen many a Thai kitchen with furniture legs stood in bowls of water to deter ants as well.

Mint should be easy enough to grow and would add a refreshing aroma to the air.

Ants will certainly take over if you allow them.

Problem with mint is it is too easy to grow, and can easily take over a garden (at least that was the situation in UK). One possible solution is to grow it root restricted. But even then, need to keep an eye on it.
