Went to the local Tesco in Pua today with a short list of items I needed for the homestay. On my list were potatoes, onions, mushrooms, green melon, orange or Sunlady melon, coffee flavoured rolled pastry things (freebies we leave in the living room) and dog treats (for the Labradors, not the guests). NOTHING. I can just get away with doing the English style breakfasts tomorrow morning with what I have but will have to do a provisioning trip to Nan. Even there, Makro has not stocked either the paprika spiced pork sausages nor my preferred Greek yogurt for one and two months respectively. Just pathetic.

When in a foreign land treat everything a seasonal. Sometimes available sometimes not. Just be joyful when it is available.

I think you need to buy a bigger freezer one about half the size of your house then you need to make regular trips to the big smoke.
Whenever Tesco gets stuff expat's like on the shelves it disappears very quickly as there are many others like you just waiting to pounce.

There is an alternative don't serve farang, instead food serve native style bugs and beetles then all you need is some tin a light and a container full of water underneath!

You rich bastard, bugs and beetles eh?

Here it's rice, boiled cabbage and twigs. The twigs are cut in a variety of very delicate, pretty ways though.

I dream of boiled cabbage and twigs.

The nearest to vegetables we get is pea grit, and if we're lucky it's served with caterpillar frass.

I'm astonished that you eat the frass.

Our local village market has a number of vendors who insist it's application help the ladies to whiten their skin. A small amount in a glass tube sells for 200THB. The lady vendors cabal do ensure the amount available is limited and when word gets out the crowd around the vendors is 6 deep. Hiso "white" ladies are sat behind the vendors "illustrating" the affects and the purchasers can take a photo sitting next to them, to share with their fartbook friends.

I surprised they dont have police protection.

There has also been more and more village trees whose leaves have mysteriously disappear overnight incidents lately. Some rumour that the trees are favourite breeding places for rare caterpillars and once boiled and refined, the the solution becomes the frass.

A potential money maker or a Thai "factual" story. My wife looks on in envy, but as I ensure she only has 70 THB in her purse at any one time, has not been able to sample this wonder potion.

    I have two moans...

    1) I'm looking at my phone (charging next to my headphones on their lovely Samsung wireless double charger), and it has two times upon it, as so:

    Local 05:21 pm
    London 08:21 am

It's just wrong and worth moaning about (on a daily basis...)

    2) I cannot take a screenshot of it because each time I try it goes off standby mode...

[ 3) I could potentially ask the wife if I could borrow her phone to take a picture of my phone, next to my headphones, the wireless one's that Dilly should have bought, but not in yellow, on the beautiful Samsung double wireless charger, but I'm afraid of the scolding and ridicule that my wife might offload upon me if I were to mention the situation with regard to this thread; and, I haven't had my dinner yet and am feeling hungry thus hopeful of perhaps a Kapow kai, and I don't want to risk the potential of this food arriving to me, and soon, by upsetting the wife. She has been a bit touchy today since I mentioned trying to sort out the taxes... ]

    ^^

Scroll to Settings, then tap on it. Scroll to Lock screen, then tap on it. Tap Lock screen option. Depending on your current settings, slide the slider next to Dual clock option to enable or disable this option

Fine work, Inspector Dilly - but I still can't take a picture of the lockscreen...

I've changed to the calendar, so at least I have a better idea of what day of the week it is...

What do you want to do?

Delete the second clock or change the time on one of the clocks?

    No idea what that means.

    Update, is that "Grass Cuttings"?

    My search for "Frass" came up with this;

    • fine powdery refuse or fragile perforated wood produced by the activity of boring insects.
    • the excrement of insect larvae.

    Which seems to fit.

He probably gets on there just as he did/does in Thailand [not].

The pastures are not greener if one doesn't get it from the start.
    Nowhere to run.

    Fuck google image search.
Just out of curiosity I put a picture of myself in and hit search.
    Result.
Your search 'senior citizen' returned these similar results.
Followed by a page of pictures of old farts.
    Bastards.
