At least you are not on an old russian barge Aeroflot used to fly, i flew on a turbulence affected 8 hour flight in the early 90s and my seat was only bolted down on one side....was horrendous

Possibly in the future you may be able to fly on the designed and built, "exceptional countries" super brand new Boing Boing 737 MAX and experience 30 minutes of deadly terror. A quick way to loosen not only the seat bolts.

One of the saving graces of SVO is the price and amount of lounges on offer. Also apparently the longest buffet counter in an airport lounge.

So called scientists who do reseach if you can call it that which only they have the remotest interest in and has no real world benefit. Anyone remember the study into why rice crispies make the snap, crackle and pop noise.

The latest is that reseach in Brazil has found that drinking coffee from smooth sided cups makes it taste better...

You have to wonder what these fukin window lickers would do in the real world.

The butter was bad for you but then it turns out to be better for you than marg bollocks did it for me. These wankers spend years investigating stuff with limited sample sizes and extrapolate it to the real world and hey presto their definitive conclusions become the rules by which we then should live.

Solly, i think i missed my boxing day cold cuts
    ....

Not sure if this should be in the moan or cheer thread.

Last f*cking working day of the year - and indeed the decade. Been a long difficult year, and will be glad to see the back of it.

I suppose looking back on 2019 next year it will not have looked so bad. But that is 2020 hindsight for you.

What is 'SVO' when it's at home?

SVO is much easier to resolve than life without single use plastic

^^ That'll teach BRS for charging for trolleys... an ongoing moan of mine.

Maybe it'll make the thieving bandits change their ways?

    Daily moan.

Buying a new fridge for a unit. Was about to pull the trigger on this one:

Price looks really good, it's just the name that's behind me pulling out.

    'onest.

980,000 baht. That's an expensive fridge.

Born from an exciting collaboration between FIAT 500 and SMEG, a relationship that dates back to the 1950s, is an exclusive project which brings together two brands synonymous with the world of vintage style, design and technological know-how, in a brand new eye-catching form.

Yeah, that's a load of bollox; Qatar airport is the worst I've ever been to; a bloody 3 hour transfer in the middle of the night, not a sip of alcohol to be found and every seat at every eatery was taken... Miserable staff in a shithole Muslim airport - horrible! (At least the Muscat airport had a pub, and Oman Air was staffed by very friendly eastern European ladies...) Tokyo airport is a bit crap too. Actually, looking down the list, I haven't been to most of them, but if it said list of 10 worst airports, you'd easily believe that. (Changi is a good airport, no doubt. HK airport is excellent too, why is it not on the list?)

Moan: where's my fukin guitar??? I ordered it on the 16th & it hasn't even left frankfurt yet... Fukers... Another reason to hate the Yermins... &, I'm starting to worry because it's quite an expensive guitar, and if it's got a problem and I send it back (not unusual with Gibson's "quality" control...) then will I get a refund on the $600 or so import tax I'm gonna be charged???
    Cycling should be banned!!!

    I wouldn't pay that for a Fiat 500 - Italian made crap...

Having said that, on Boxing Day I met the most wonderful Italian lady who was full of personality, fun, smart, just a lovely lady, so maybe I'll have to be nicer about the Italians - there is at least one really great Italian...
