A moan and more of an observation than a moan.

Moan: Storms only happen when I need to go somewhere- in this case to my Myanmar class.

Observation: I'm less exhausted having active outdoor lessons with first graders compared to sitting with them for reading assessments. It's quite literally the "same old story". Feeling like groundhog day

Just got back from my regular bicycle run. As per usual I get some numpty stopping in front of me, pulling out, driving too close, drive down the wrong side of the road, the list goes on and on.
Today my missus is behind me on her bike when a twat comes across the road in front of me causing me and the missus have to pull out into traffic. I let rip verbally at the tosser for being so stupid and inconsiderate. Low and behold my missus starts on me for shouting at the guy. She told me I should do that as he may get angry and try to kill me. I said what about him nearly killing me due to his stupidity. She then says 'it's not his fault he can't drive properly'. There's me thinking my missus was an exception to the norm.

    Fukkin Lufthansa

Booked a flight for my kids in UK back in January when the prices were 500 quid

Went on Lufthansas website yesterday to check them in online and notice the prices are now 1447 pounds.

On the online check in page they mention the second leg of their fligh, the Thai leg is overbooked and they are looking for volunteers to take a later flight who will be compensated.
Anyway clicked no on that and checked them in

They get to airport in UK and the plane leaves 44mins late and arrives 43 minutes late in Germany. They miss their flight as there was only a 1 hour and 40 minute stopver.
Im thinking the airline have done it on purpose as there are a load of them in a free hotel now.

Today they will have to fly to Vienna to catch a direct flight with i think their sister company Austrian Airways.

So the first day of their holiday fukked up and im thinkin do they do this on purpose to sell top priced tickets?

Looking on flight aware website that first flight has a history for leaving 40 minutes late.

Our dad booked us on a scheduled flight instead of chartering us an executive jet.
Now we are stuck in the Fatherland at the mercy of the Luftwaffe ,probably spending the money he saved on beer, women and yachts.

That is your perception not necessarily the perception of the travellers. Have they been to Vienna airport before?

Austrian is not a bad airline. Flying from Bkk to the UK with Austrian one gets two breakfasts and lands at around 10 AM a sensible time?

They should have been here now on the beach. Instead theyve been sitting around airports and cooped up in a 3 star hotel and now have to fly to a third airport (Austria) from Germany then onto Bangkok.

They didnt look to enthralled on Messenger earlier about the joys of Vienna airport. Oh and yes Ive been to Vienna Airport. I didnt notice any Mozart statues or opera houses in there

^ Dill, hope it all gets sorted out soon.

In Australia we have a highly coveted Portraiture Art Prize ... the Archibald.

    First prize is $100,000

Figurative painter and cartoonist Mitch Cairns has won the 2017 Archibald Prize for his portrait of his partner and fellow artist Agatha Gothe-Snape.

The accolade, which is judged by the trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, has a colourful history, with debate,
    division and legal challenges.

Mr Cairns, who is based in Sydney, had been shortlisted for the Archibald Prize four times and finished runner-up twice.

    What painting won?

I don't know Art, but I know what I like and what I don't like.

I don't give a toss what the image portrays but, for me ... it's total crap

Thankfully, there's also a 'common man' Archibald ... it's called the Packing Room Prize and is awarded by the staff of the Art Gallery
of NSW who unpack and hang the entries.

Below won and a $1,500 cheque.
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

The other way round, they sell tickets for flights which are notoriously late at low prices. Probably the last leg from a transcontinental flight.

I was in the mood for a chicken steak today, and as luck would have it, at lunch time I walked past a chicken restaurant, you know, a restaurant that specialises in chicken. Well, right outside that chicken restaurant was a lovely big sign advertising chicken steaks for only 59 baht. Perfect, I thought. So in I went. There were no customers in the restaurant. Good-o, I thought. I won't have to wait in a queue. So I ordered a chicken steak. However, I was taken aback somewhat when the waitress asked my what kind I wanted. Umm, just a chicken steak, I said, like the one on the advertising board outside. "Mai me ka. Me dte moo." So off I went to the 7/11 for lunch. Sigh.

Not so much a moan, more an observation.
I can't fathom that after at least 9 years of English lessons the average Thai has no understanding of spoken English!!!

Yesterday the village was without water from first thing until 8pm. No warning to anyone, just shut down to clean the pipes as we later found out.

From the grape vine we're told they're doing the same tomorrow. The village has a tannoy system. Does the amphur ever notify the village prior to carrying out maintenance work? Nah, the fcuking numpties.

This is a moan from the West.

Leaving Kindy the other day and walked past a conversation between two of the Mums.

Had to stand there at the gate for a bit because I had 1 child and another one walking up the path, so not intentionally ears-dropping.

So, both ladies, late 20's / early 30's.

One driving a newish Range Rover Vogue (Miss RR) and the other, a Porsche Cayenne S (Miss PC).
I own in a posh area, but don't invest my money in cars and drive an older barrel of bolts.

Now Miss PC was driving a different Porsche Cayenne S from her usual drive.
Apparently she was involved in a wee bingle and her insurance company allowed her to not lower standards
and provided her with a replacement Porsche Cayenne to keep her travelling in a style she has become accustomed to.

Ah ... the trials and tribulations of living in the West.

BTW, Miss PC is an Asian yummy money with a delectable silky English voice and some doctors help up top.
Think, maybe an Asian Nigella Lawson ... I would !

    Stomp and Steer .

Groomzillas and their wedding blues. Now, my supervisor is getting hitched. You would have thought that he would perhaps be happy? Well, Mr. Glass Half Empty as been in a flap since his engagement and is taking it out in everyone around him. Scalding people for getting minor but necessary surgery during the week and creating paperwork for using paper. So in essence the man is wasting paper to allegedly stop paper waste. Right...

Edit: I didn't even mention the eating with his mouth open and talking at the same time. I eat with my first grade class because they have better table manners.

    Two words: Thai bureaucracy.
Need I say more for a moan?

Wife needs to renew her passport and decided she may as well get it in our married surname.
First step, register her name change at the municipality office.
No, we need to see your husband's passport and him (despite her having our original marriage cert....and what business is it of theirs to see my pp and me? If she wanted to change her name to Gobbeldygook, she can, but to change it to my surname they want proof that I exist.
So she rings me and I drive to the office.
No, you need to first register your marriage at the amphur office across town.
Amphur office...take a number, get called, no, you need to see that lady. That lady has a client who appears to be a friend and is simply gossiping. After half an hour, the first lady who advised wifey to see the other office lady "kindly" advises said lady that we are waiting. Another half hour of gossip and laughter, and wifey gets to see this important lady.
No, this official translation with the approved translator's stamp is not good enough because you see here...the line of the name field? Can you see your name doesn't quite line up....get a ruler and check...no the name is definitely half a millimeter out and despite the fact that it's all double spacing between the fields and there is no way anyone could possibly think the name belongs to the field below, get the translator to print it again. 3 more ladies offer their opinion and after much discussion concur.
Back to PSU through traffic to get the translation printed again.
Amphur office again, get a number. Wait for important petty lady. Finally..Oh, before you see me, you have to go to Songkhla Internal Affairs to get the (officially by approved translator) translated copy of the marriage cert certified that it's a true translation. You could have told us this the first time you saw us! So, the official translation has to be approved by a non-translator as an official translation.

25 kms to Songkhla. No, the official who does that is not here today.

    FFS.

A friend's photo came up of Ngapali beach in Myanmar,it's bloody stunning. My first thought? "Meh,it's not Pattaya!". I'm beyond redemption

Another moan would be that being Thailand has put some very silly ideas in my head. Not unwelcome, but pretty foolish stuff.

Foolish stuff to do with women, wine or song ?

You apparently haven't been vaccinated yet, like your compatriot Simon.
