...on the bts during morning rush: managed to secure a coveted end seat when the largest humanoid cow on earth rumbles her way into the seat next to me, with her acrid breakfast bags swinging freely, with her overstuffed tote bags propped on her lap, with her phone at the bottom of the tote bags...it rings: elbows akimbo, she backs and fills until the device can be retrieved and then broadcasts to the sardine-packed and thoroughly trapped passengers the story of her life...for the 25-minute ride to Siam Square...

My shoulders are sore from the natives in siam Paragon walking into me.

Every flight to Udon was fully booked yesterday. We hadn't booked in advance because wifey needed to get a new passport. That took much less time than expected; around 1/2 hour and will be posted, to arrive before Songkran.

Nowhere to check Don Mueang flights from swampy so had to use the internet. Budget prices indeed! Fully booked to Sakon Nakhon anyway.

Wifey ended up using puppy eyes to get standby tickets on 3pm flight...got 60 kg on for free so ended up okay ...just knackered.

Similar, I was on the net trying to get a flight out of Bkk to CNX next week on any airline other than at crack- o-dawn or near bed time at anywhere near a reasonable price was impossible. Air Asia's website crashed, its prices creeping up, then shot up to within reach of Bkk Air's!

Tried the railway for an overnight a/c sleeper, all fully booked,...so back to Bkk Air for a relative cheepo,..at just over 3k baht.

The last thing I want is to spend any time more than necessary in Bkk.

The looming prospect of Spending Songkran in that fwk-up of a city is enough to make any old man want to turn to sex drugs and rock'n roll.

A mouse dined on the cooker's flexible gas pipe last night. Weakened hose enough to cause it to leak without tripping the auto shut-off valve. Nice smell of gas this morning...

Anyone know any tricks to stop them eating the hose?

Adopt a cat? Sticky trap things from 7-Eleven/Tesco Express. Small rat trap baited with 1/4 hot dog

    Chili oil might do it.

^ Sounds too close for comfort DK. Hope they don't get any bigger!

My mouse worries pale in comparison. I have a cat but she doesn't normally sleep in the kitchen and the mouse has a nice little run with only about 3m of open space to negotiate. I hate the glue so have gone for the dehydrating poison and blocked the hole, which will slow the bugger(s) down a tad. I have put the gas pipe inside some conduit and taken the climbable sleeving off the gas tank. Let round 2 begin!

They're probably attracted to cooking oil etc depositing on the hose.Aside from wiping the hose clean daily with disinfectant soaked rag, you could try slipping another hose over it as a protector.

Thanks Ent but it's not cooking oil. The pipe runs under the cupboard to the hob and is yummy yellow plastic.

I am still waiting for mousy to get out of the blocked hole. He hasn't managed to eat his way out yet.

Certain types of hose have metal braiding. You may be able to find some of that from another application and slip it over.
