After 3 different dentists and a doctor all failed to find a fix for my swollen face and painful jaw, a visit to a private hospital, doctor and dentist, have found that my molar roots extend (unusually) into my maxillary sinus, this producing a channel for bacteria to enter the sinus. Hence chronic sinusitis that flares up every now and then.
Molar extraction and a course of antibiotics (2 types) and painkillers.
The drug cocktail is slowly working, but I now have almost no sense of taste. I can detect saltiness and a little sweetness, but flavours are all bland and insipid.
My Hong Thong and filtered water tastes like unfiltered tap water. My dahl curry soup tastes like tap water. Orange juice tastes like slightly sweet old tap water.

If I can get used to it, it will mean eating will be cheap as I don't have to seek tasty food, just nutritious.

To supermarkets and manufacturers: hot dogs are not sausages and should not be labelled as such.

Hot dogs, strangely enough, are called hot dogs. Can't think why.

    More info required...who is calling a hot-dog a sausage?

Germans are often guilty of saying frankfurter (hot-dog) and wiener, (hot-dog) are sausage...Americans tend not to know the difference at all.

In Australia and NZ, a hotdog is the bun-frankfurter combination. The sausage alone is a frank, frankfurt, frankfurter, or frankfurter sausage.
And I would call a frankfurter a sausage, because it is.

Would you call a salami, a sausage? I think I would.

Cheers that seems to have fixed the coughing. Not sure what it is but maybe just a bad case of man flu?

Asked my dear wife if she would go and buy me some Aspirin. The Pharmacy is about 100m away.

The poor woman, bless her, has been to 5 pharmacies all within about 500 m. No Aspirin anywhere!
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.
You people, you think I know feck nothing; I tell you: I know feck all

Well technically it is a sausage, just as black pudding is, but when you talk sausages then it isn't what springs to mind. I mean Italian sausage brings to me thoughts of salsiccia rather than salami, something that requires grilling or baking rather than cured and requiring simply slicing...

...and that is essentially what a sausage means to the English, uncooked with method of cooking being grill, frying-pan or oven rather than boiling. Those that require boiling are chucked into a separate category of hot-dog sausages...to be eaten with that ghastly yellow gunk some pass for mustard (when we all know only Colman's mustard is real mustard)

Chipolatas to me are just thin sausages ... same thing just thinner....
