Wifey is running out of Contact Lenses. Last trip we forgot to pick some up in TL. I said "No worries we can do here". Well I spoke to soon. Its not so easy here, well easy maybe but not so cheap. I called around today trying to see how to get her lenses refilled. Can't do. HAVE to have a prescription. Tried ordering online, Can't do have to have a prescription. To get a Prescription you need to pay for the vision test. Cheapest I found was $225 and that does not include any lenses. WAFJ. Why in the hell do you need a prescription for contact lenses if you know what you wear?. I mean who in the fuk would go and buy lenses that do not work or help you? Its not like these are a controlled drug. In TL she just goes and buys them.

    May be this will explain?
You cannot buy contact lenses in the United States without a valid prescription written by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist. Period.

^^^Got to love America. Can do it in the mall here - about $20 for the full eye exam. Of course, we don't have the AMA looking out for our best interests.

Yeah exactly. We have removed the selective thinning of the herd process by adding all the safety crap. In fact most the safety standards have removed all the critical and common sense thinking people are expected to learn and know.

It took 5 years for it to happen but there's a downside to reading TD everyday ... So many things being posted that has started to make me miss Thailand. I think the thing I miss the most is the expats ... they made me laugh or smile everyday.

Taphan Hin in Phichit ... Ban Phe in Rayong and Pattaya in Chonburi. May consider Nakhonsawan the next time or Bangkok.
