It's that fookin' cold here that I'm seriously contemplating putting some socks on!

Don't have a thermostat in the house but, it must be in the low teens.

    Yep, it's cold and dark!

Definitely sock weather. Sweater and cap, too.

Hired five Thais to help me build a walk around my house under the eves. Tired of the mud. I ended up doing most of the work and all of the thinking...so, not all bad I suppose. C-Pac concrete coming at 13:00, maybe...I'm not looking forward to pushing the crew or the concrete. 1,750 baht/cu.mt. I need a little less than 10 cu. mt. Crew get 300 baht/da. and lunch.

Indeed, they have to be 100% cotton

Got an abscess under one of my molars. In really bad pain and on metronidazole, so a dry Christmas for me. Not that I'm too bothered about that right now, as I've been vomiting for 2 days and the mere smell of food or alcohol has me gagging. And to top it all the date for my root canal or extraction is New Year's Eve. Bah, f*cking humbug!

This morning, Jan 2, at about 01:30, I saw the announcement that Channel 7 was going to show the movie 'Deception' at 03:00 Jan 2.

I contemplated staying up to watch it as I'd never seen it before. Decided not to bother and went upstairs and used the pc for a while. By the time I was just about to finish on the com I wondered whether I should go back downstairs and watch it. I checked the scheduling on the CH7 homepage to see what time it would finish.

It stated that it will start at 02:23 in their schedule for Jan 02. But....it actually starts at 02:23 on Jan 03.

Why is it that some Thais still class the early hours of the morning as being of the date from the day previous?

I'd almost forgotten about this annoyance with differing times and dates and now recall an incident many years ago of a work colleague who was told at very short notice that he had to go to S. Korea. He was to meet up with one of the office staff at the airport where he would receive the plane tickets and itinerary. He got to the airport rendevous point on time but there was no sign of anyone. He later learned he got there one day too early.

    For feck sake what next.
Going to have a country full of abandon foreign dogs now.

A dog rescue charity is calling for help to bring abandoned pooch Lucy over to the UK from Romania.

Happy Paws Puppy Rescue has been asked to help Lucy after she was abandoned out side a public pound in Romania with her puppies.

Lucy was cold, frightened, starving and very much alone.

Lisa Smart from the charity said, “If Happy Paws had not stepped in Lucy and her pups would not be here right now but she is now safe in a secure foster home.

“Happy Paws needs to raise £450 to bring her to the UK. If anyone could help sweet Lucy we would really appreciate it. Lucy has been through so much in her young life, with your help, we want her to enjoy all a loving home has to offer.”

Donate using sort code 60-07-44 and account number 51615800, using reference Lucy.

Follow Lucy’s story on Facebook on the Happy Paws Puppy Rescue page.

^^ UK charities have been Romanian dogs over for years, KT. I thought you meant they were bringing them to Thailand until I read the name Happy Paws which is one of the main charities involved

Happy Paws, i think, also bring them to Switzerland. And France. Good charity, but do we really need any more abandoned animals we have enough of our own.

But when you look at her face - how could you resist.

Well... look on the bright side. It could've been worse. You could've also told us that you didn't win the lottery jackpot too.
