My moan, I booked a flight online for my wife to go back to Thailand for 2 weeks.
I spelt the name wrong in error.
I had to jump through hoops to rectify this, and was charged an outrageous A$269.00 to correct.
The online operator was gotogate - shower of cvnts. Had a telephone number in Sydney but was answered by an Indian call centre which was useless.
So you both got mugged on holiday then ?
They say they come in threes
Yep whether a drought or not, there is a ton of money to be made in Silicon Valley. Great place to come sock it away and then bail out.Originally Posted by wjblaney

Yup.

I finally learned a little J2E on the job and was finally completely retrained in .NET--in 2008 at the ripe old age of 58. As you say, HAHAHA
Go for it.
“The Master said, At fifty, I knew what were the biddings of Heaven. At sixty, I heard them with docile ear. At seventy, I could follow the dictates of my own heart; for what I desired no longer overstepped the boundaries of right.”
Yep, this is the place for start ups. Loads of cash from angel investors that like to play. I grew up in Santa Cruz. Great place back in the 60's and 70's. Quick drive over highway 17 through the mountains and you are in the land of 6 figure salaries as a norm. Hell Even the garbage men driving trucks make 6 figs nowadays. There is a term used a lot these days called the "Comma Club".
Glad I lived my life around here. Also glad to soon be getting out of it. Great place if you are 25 to 45 and hungry. When you get older you better have a LOAD of cash or you will have to work until you die.
Lived in Boulder Creek for about a year when I was 20 (1970) selling, snorting, eating and smoking dope. Would have and wanted desperately to live there my whole life but selling dope was like a part-time job: no big-time money at all. Ended up moving back in with the parents. Same story for 20-somethings then as now, hippy or straight.Originally Posted by JPPR2

Dude asked me what doctor I saw last ... I was like WTF man I haven't been to the doctor in years.
Gert and i just made a video call to a female friend in Bangkok bloody nightmare.
They both used the image of themselves, the image you see of yourself on your screen to preen themselves.
Hair check, teeth check, bogey check they spent so much time moving the tablet around never got a clear image of the other person.
Forty minute call of a moving out of focus camera given me a headache going to drink myself back into focus now.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
Surely Gert would already be in her Sunday best and just back from church?
Mrs Hat leaving me for a week . . . going to Auckland to look at houses with real estate agents . . .
Sigh, this stuff is getting real.
