Well ..... this in Thailand.... So I took a burn around the mountains on my RVF the other day. I noticed this small amber resin residue under the exhaust. Thought...Crap, the fiberglass resin in the muffler pack is finally going away as it was dripping off the bottom. So I cleaned it up and yesterday took another blast through the hills and returned and after letting the moto cool, saw a larger resin spot on the tile and also on my passenger foot peg. Thought "Shit that's odd". So I took off the rear body cowl and the resin is seeping out of the ignition module. The Thailand weather finally turned it from a solid to a liquidus resin. I called up a few buddies here and they said "Oh Yeah, welcome to the party" They had a few suggestions and off I went to get some RTV.
Seeping resin. The resin is for vibration for the PCBA inside the module. It breaks down over time but usually not to fast but Thailand environment is harsh on rubber and sealants.
Fix attempt 1. I give this a 50% chance of working. I am looking for a new module as a back up. Not easy to find in these parts from a 1995 moto.
