I use Expedia all the time and have never had a problem, but I don't book a bedroom in a house. I use it for flights, real hotels, and car rentals.

We were planning to go back for a while in October but that is not going to happen, with no good outlook going forward. Feels like we had a great 9 years there with the best of times and tons of friends which will be tough if not impossible to ever recreate. Sigh.....

I felt the same way also when we were in the US.
Now we are here and it is great!! So far so good in Khon Kaen , other than having to wear masks in public, covid is hardly noticeable.
but now with people leaving BKK for the provinces, I am concerned about a resurge of covid 19 in Thailand. Me and the wife we were just talking about it yesterday. We might leave and go to Greece while Thailand get's their covid act together.
I am sick of this covid shit also.

420K cases there compared to Thailand's 244K, and you'd have to navigate through BKK and Athens compared to remaining in your Isaan backwater.

    Bonkers idea.

You should be thinking of exactly the opposite - growing your own veggies and Grab food delivery, maybe catfish in that pond.

Went to Super Rich Changwattana today to buy some dollars. I have a feeling the baht is going to suffer in the short term. Was shocked when they said no dollars come back tomorrow.

Just had an email from our headteacher.

Theres a few weeks left till the Summer holidays but there's serious talk of shutting the school down because if this Indian Covid variant.

Will this Covid shit never end?

Thailand just pushed their normalization date to October. So no. Probably not. Despair is going to set in like it never has before.

This is my third year. The first two years I went back to Thailand for a month to chill. Covid has kept me out this year. It sucks. Taking care of Mom. When duty done, I’m outta here!

    Honourable, Kitty.
Had a couple of situations that put me back for about 18 months [personal medical thing and COVID era restrictions].
Been a long haul - returning home in late August/early September.

The PlayStation Plus games for July are very underwhelming considering I'm off for the month.

I gotta say MK, if not for my Mom being ill and my oldest daughter getting married I wouldn't even consider a States trip. I am trying to keep it in perspective but honestly there is nothing interesting to me there and with this covid shit, traveling there just sucks. The airport to Napa shuttle service is closed so looks like Uber which is always fun with 4 big suitcases and 2 carry on. I told my wife let's just take 2 carry on and buy cheap suitcases in the US before we return. Of course that went over like a lead balloon. She has her little courier deals both ways going on to pay for her airfare which I have to admit is pretty funny but I am the one having to coordinate all the luggage stuff.

I think the biggest frustration is the unknown returning. We will both get fully vaccinated while there but with the clowns running the show here, ya never know and I have no desire to do a 14 day prison quarantine with a bunch of Lugy hacking, cig smoking Chinese.

Hopefully when we are about to return we will catch a window where cases are low and the knuckleheads call off ASQ programs for fully vaccinated folks.

    Ok....moan over. Beer time.

I sweated my bollocks off cutting my privet hedges to fill the green recycling wheelie bin up.

In my dehydrated and sun stroked state I put it out for collection by the roadside.
However, I got the week wrong and it was the general rubbish wheelie bin collection week.

Needless to say the bin full wasn't disposed off.

Now I have to wait another week for disposal and all the bins are full.

What I did find amusing was that all of my neighbour's had followed my lead and put the wrong bin out for collection.

Now everyone on the road has full bins all week with excess waste to dispose off next week

    First world problems
    Shalom
