Annoying, but not really much in the scheme of things, eh?

Every time I was in NZ it bloody rained cats and dogs.
The last time was the end of a 3 week trip round Asia-Pacific and i just wanted to get home.
I left the hotel for my last appintment all was fine. Upon completiton of the meeting All I had to do was to walk the 1km or so back to the hotel, change clothes and head off to the airport.
    Unfortuantely the heavens had opened.
Totally pissed off I just walked back anyway, the only pedestrian on the streets, stopping only to pick up some T-shirt at a tourist stand.
I walked into the hotel looking as if i had just finished a shower, leaving a trail of water behind me - everyone staring at me.
Changed clothes, into the T-shirt an a pair of dirty jeans and off to the airport.

A shame really as the people I met at the various meetings always seemed like a good bunch, but I never had the chance to get out and about outside of the meetings

Nothing wrong with Aussies, quite ok once you get to know them but can be a bit boisterous; I rate the few Kiwis I've known as civilised Aussies, and the many Canucks I know as civilised Americans.

    Is that racist nowadays?

Kiwi and Canadian are not races, obviously.

Thus, asking such a purelie, facetious question shows you up as a racist.

Going group away for a couple of days from tomorrow, booked hotel, 800 reduced from 1200, but rooms with double bed (which I prefer) 1400 from 1200.

    Asked why, because boss say.

Good luck with that, will stay just one night instead of 2/3.

Will find out tomorrow, but from what I hear we'll have the run of the place with a few other guests.

Feeling comfy with the Oz lingo I mistakenly hit a nerve with 'abos', but that was like 30 years back, before it became a capital offence, and credit to my host for smoothly steering the conversation away from Oz crazies to Brit crazies.

Perhaps you could learn English with the extra nights and savings.

Lets see if I can interpret somewhat.

Facebook and is dammed Community "Standards". Would think this should be Facebook and its damned community standards:

    Community Standards | Facebook

    I made some gammon

Gammon: Collective noun for white, middle-aged, furious-faced men who are heavily concentrated in the vast reaches of England's Brexit heartlands.

    Urban Dictionary: Gammon

get all wobbly lipped (would translate this as "upset")

over Land of Hope and Glory.

Land of hope and Glory: is a British patriotic song, with music by Edward Elgar written in 1901 and lyrics by A. C. Benson later added in 1902.

Overall interpretation: I made a facebook post about Land of Hope and Glory and it got pulled for hate speech as it upset someone.

hey mandaloopy - how did I do?

I see, thanks. But why would a song called hope and glory get pulled for hate speech? Why would it upset a 'gammon'?
And why the fuck would white, furious middle aged men be called gammon. (which google tells me is cured but uncooked ham(thank you dill))
