Great morning. Missus calls me 10:30, on the way to pick up our son from school, as he has a slight fever.. Ten minutes later calls again, some moron has run into the back of her car at the lights, and she has to wait for insurance to turn up. I have to go to collect him.
So I go to school to pick up the boy, job done. Only, my Hilux truck now has a flat battery and won't start. Sniffling kid learns some new swear words. After finding out the new jump leads I bought are about as useful as spaghetti, my guys from work turn up and start the motor. All stood in a car park in the pissing rain, with a school full of kids all looking on..
-Not normally superstitious, but next month on the 13th I am staying in bed all day. Fuck it.

It's Summer there. And although kids get fevers easily, in these COVID days, I would be very careful, dude. Remember Somtamslap's wife had it and he probably did too, but was asymptomatic ?

If I recall correctly slaps wife had a suspected case that turned out to be a false alarm.

Or you can buy the bargain twin pack for 13.19.

Over the past year or so they gave Wat Boon a facelift, did a fine job of it, nice and pretty, as a temple it will turn them into smoke one day so damn the expense esp as it's someone else's. Anyway, could be a coincidence but part of the road collapsed just outside the Wat Boon entrance, deep enough to throw bikes that hits it. I hit it yesterday, spotted it just in time to brake violently and go into a mild skid, front wheel straight in but managed to keep my balance and didn't topple over, which is just as well to avoid the truck coming the other way.

My advice to the authorities is not to fix it. Leave it as is; afaik it hasn't killed anyone yet. Wait till it does, then officials can stand around tutting before ordering 12kg rubble!

Not true, unfortunately. She was hospitalised with it. All well now.

My fault but I'll moan anyway...

Finally had new summer tyres fitted and new brake pads. Walked the 5 miles to and from work today with wrong shoes, in the rain and a small stone in my sock. The result is a lot of dried blood between toe 3 and 4 and one lost toe nail. Left umbrella at the garage and got soaked as well.

Good news is the Jag has new rubber and brakes...

So, apparently i have a "hot tooth ". Basically normal anethstetics do not work properly as a consequence of the infection. Third week in and still painful until the dentist gets the anesthesia right, which takes a fairly painful injection in its own right. Looking forward to getting this finally sorted.

It's been a lovely sunny week and I fancied a small BBQ this weekend. Weather forecast is 29 and sunny today with showers tomorrow. Today it is then.
Prep food and light up BBQ, just as it gets to cooking temp a black cloud appears from nowhere and it pisses down. We move BBQ to shelter a little and manage the first course of trout but no more.

If you can find a dentist that gives nitrous oxide you definitely won't regret it.

If you find one let me know. Dentists rarely believe me but standard injections seldom do it for me, which makes dental work fairly unpleasant.

Bangkok Hospital in Udon said it was possible to get N2O if you book an operating theatre and an anaesthetist and an overnight stay. The quote had too many zeroes for me, so I make do without.

When I go to the dentist I get an anesthetic administered by IV. I'm asleep before I even have to open my mouth.

Don't know if it's available in Thailand, but it was a game changer for me and I no longer fear going to the dentist.

Just checked into an airbnb (working away).
Silly old host subjected me to a ten minute induction.

Any sane person would ask -

‘are you an experienced traveller ? Okay, the wifi password is ...’

    Or

‘Are you a complete retard who needs to have light switches explained ?’

I know that they want guests to be safe and comfortable but FFS -

Do many guests disassemble microwave ovens ?
