Remote conference calls two weeks running, audio only and no briefing beforehand. Lots of silent moments as you can't pass a note around or have a whisper in someone's ear. In the end there were 10 in the call and only 4 of us said anything.

Webex will let you have side chats with other attendees (not talking, typing). Just make sure you double check as in my last meeting someone mistakenly put something in the general chatroonm instead of the private one they clearly intended it to be in!


I while on this thread, I will have my daily moan - fuck - my missus spends a lot of time watching fucking soaps on TV. Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese. I think she puts in a solid 8 to 10 hours a day on it.

Thanks for that info, I didn't know. Is it made available by the chairman of the meeting. I didn't see any controls on the (free) WebEx personal, I downloaded just for the meeting.

They have, but it is installed on their Company laptops, which I don't have in Thailand. It took a long time before they allowed me to join a remote meeting due to location.

Thai soaps are gateway, after a while you need more to maintain the same high; mine has swept through Korean and Jap and now feeding on Indian, defcon 4, you really don't want that!

I think we had this one before, they enter the food chain at factory level, lay eggs that get packed in with the rice, hatch, and can't believe their luck.

Nope, The Mrs is building a set of 5 "Rooms" as they like to call them, single store "apartments" i suppose is the nearest we'd call them. She has 3 other lots of them and they provide a steady stream of income, part of her retirement plan.

I was going to be there for the setting out to check the position, alignment etc as the shape of the land is a bit awkward and Thais and geometry don't mix well imho. She was going to kick this off last year but waited and has lucked out as the prices of materials has dipped significantly. She's using a contractor she's used before for Nr Korat quote for labour is 330K THB and the project is due under 800K, ROI is c8-9 years so not bad.

I was going to do a thread on it but TBH i can't be fuk'd - anyway Reachy will be along with input from the BiL shortly.

Nah. She does the thai ones as well. She watches the asian ones with subtitles. I drop down and she is watching programs in japanese, korean, chinese. To be honest, i did not know she could read thai. Nice lass, but dumb as a plank.
