^ get her racket and repeatedly hit the strings on something solid until they lose some of their high strung firmness and then she'll struggle to get it over the net after three games.

Pisses me off that the media and medical profession are warning people not to drink or inject disinfectant; I think we should back off and let this one play out.

Not too late. The seeds have already been sowed.

Last night was the third and worst night by far for flying ants/termites. After being relatively unscathed inside the first two nights we got quite a few in the house and stuck in the window screens and channels last night. Quite a few hours today to clean-up. Tonight will be a 'dark' night about the house...no lights. Same thing happened at the start of last year's rainy season in late May so they have ventured out a little earlier this year.

Couldn't agree with you more. Darwinism in it's purest form can be a cruel beast, but in this case I'd happily sit back and relax...

Put them in plastic bags label them "Fairy Wings", the tourists think they're aphrodisiacs. Fortune to be made.

Pool pump stopped working last week, murky water, pool guy took it away to fix, water's green within a couple of days, pops it back in, 1700bt, works fine, a day or two later crystal clear.

Then it stops working again, and water quickly goes murky.

Me: WTF, get him in tomorrow.
She: <defend a Thai, get merit points> No, it's supposed to be like that.
Me: Like what, like can't go in?
She: Yes only for a bit, the pump works sometimes then stops then starts again. <now the bit I like, every time> Don't you know?
Me: So we can use the pool only every second or third day?
She: <like the Cheyenne, once the stake is in the ground...> it's always like that, the pump must stop sometimes.
Me: We've been here 9 months, tell me again this is how it's always been.
She: <pause> Ok I call him.

Very impressed our two Labradors detected intruders 40 meters away in the thick undergrowth below our northern boundary while lying in a large bath of dirty water near the front of the property. Less happy they chose to run through the house (rather than around it) to challenge said interlopers. Still moping up. Turns out the wife got the land owners nephew back to do some tree trimming to maintain our view.

Went to Makro Nan today, first trip to Nan in six weeks and with the intent would not be going back until June. Where do I start...no blocks of salted butter, no smoked chicken breasts, a whole freezer empty so half the frozen chicken parts not available including the frozen chicken breasts we wanted, no pickled gerkins, no black olives, none of the thick pork Cumberland sausages they usually carry. Didn't see any other obvious deficiencies, it just seems what we want is over represented in them. Our local Tesco hasn't had vanilla ice cream or potatoes for a week as well. Seriously pissed over the whole grocery provisioning thing. Sucks to be in a minor province on the end of supply lines.

On Thursday it was announced that the alcohol ban would continue throughout May, so I started 12 litres of 5-day cider, using my last packet of champagne yeast.

Today it was announced that the alcohol ban is lifted from Sunday 3rd May - bastards!

I was having a play fight with the daughter this morning when she announced that she was gonna kick me in the nuts.

I said, "look, you're in probably the most expensive school in Isaan... is that the kind of words they teach you to say?"

So she says, "ok, I'm gonna kick you in the penus!"

I think I preferred her saying nuts... she's growing up way too fast.

My kids accused me of racism because I told them I liked our white cat more than the black one.

So I told them I liked the white cat more than them too.

Smooth . . . but they're twin boys and they'll kick you in the 'penus' in just a few years

My 14-year old heard me playing 'Hey fatty Bum Bum' on TD a few days ago and told me off for being 'judgy' and 'mouldy old' . . . she wasn't happy with me anyway as I 'labelled' a friend of hers, who is 'non-binary', as 'she'. (All I said was would my daughter like to include xxxxx in her belated birthday celebrations.)
    14 . . .

Was life easier when we were young?
