Not when there's inter-provincial travel restrictions in place throughput much of the broader upcountry regions.

Week 10 of working from home and it is pretty clear I am shit at introverting. I tip my hat to folks that can sit at a desk all day and stay focused.

When our daughter came along I welded a couple of metal rods to the pool gate so I could make it secure by slipping a metal ring over them.

Of course as she grew the metal rods became longer and longer.

Now she's a sensible kid of nearly nine and would never go into the pool alone, so today I'm cutting the rods off as part of my DIY campaign.

My moan... my little girl's becoming all grown up way too fast.

    What will I do?

I have heard another rumour that the police are stopping vehicles and asking for a doctor's certificate as well as taking temperature when crossing provincial boundaries. The doctor's certificate should show that you have not had a fever in the last 14 days.

No idea how true this is but it is stop some people from travlling back to home province.

    Nobody in the 3rd tent.
Just outside the village is the province border.

Who is issuing the doctor's certificate, local hospital?

Been doing a fair bit of on line shopping - largely new to me, and learnt some things.

Food (staples) from order to arrive -2 days
A full bedroom set* from Ikea - 3 days
The computer accessories I desperately need so I can start working properly - fuck knows as they are still not here, and they were the first f*cking things I ordered.

    * This was for the boy. He will start University in a month or so. As it is likely he will start on line, he needed a quite place so finally he will be allowed to have his computer in his bedroom. As part of the makeover, he painted his room, and we spent a day putting all the Ikea stuff together, desk, chair, shelving etc. Good to spend time with him doing stuff. We actually managed to not fuck any thing up doing the build, and I was struck as to how remarkably clever are the people who design this stuff.

Done me up like a kipper they did!

Yesterday was my bread day, now that we've adopted a freezer I decided to buy 3 loaves instead of the regular 2, I was going to get 4 loaves to see me through a whole month, but reconsidered as such a leap from normal could have unintended consequences.

Did the usual, wifey called her contact at customer services, he checked and confirmed everything, so all I had to do was go pick it up and pay.

Went well, 3 loaves it was, 12 quarters in twelve bags, asked if they were sliced and indeed they were, all the way home by which time they were magically restored to unified quarters.

Part 2: My fault, wifey scolds, why did you believe the lady when she said they were sliced, maybe she didn't hear or understand and you should know yes means maybe.

Mission for next bread run: a) Find a way to check they are sliced without offending the assistant that says they are, and b) since a) is inconclusive, find a way to check that all quarters are sliced not just the one/s on top without offending the assistant that says they are.

So, the wife managed the situation, you were collection boy, they hadn't followed her instructions, so it was your fault. Smack her bottom...

&, when you get home, smack the wife's bottom too.

I'm all for more bottom smacking.

Good luck with that. One of my major bug bears is people who do a shitty job - but get completely offended if you double check them. They seem to find it incomprehensible that you do not trust them, despite them repeatedly fucking up.

    Herein lies your problem.

A Thai would just check them without even considering any 'offence' that might be caused.

    Same as with checking change.

That's why your wife is bemused.

...this has not been my experience; in fact, waiters and sales attendants seem to expect us to re-check the checkbin...no attitude noted at all...

You must keep different circles, TC.
Or...don't have the propensity to broadly exaggerate a standard stemming from an experience or two.

    That is also my experience.

I really have no idea where all these oversensitive Thais that some people seem to hang out with are.

Perhaps their colleagues snarl at them for unconnected reasons.

Yah. I was more talking about people managing million plus baht accounts. But, yah. Waiters. Ok.

Doctor from the clinic who had me under self isolation is willing to give me a certificate if I need it. Nurse came by today to check on family. Wife mentioned I'll need my meds for diabetes in a couple of weeks. I was going to get them from AEK Udon, but they think they can arrange for them to be delivered. I have to give picture of drugs I use and sugar levels over line. No Biggie, as I have the info with me and a blood sugar test kit.
