They say the Pencil is mightier than the sword, you try to conceal it but occasionally your violent streak shines through

A gloomy start literally and figuratively. Grade 1 local homeroom walked out, she was one of the most amazingly talented teachers I have had the pleasure of working with. Fell out with admin would be my guess.

I do use that from time to time. What it really means is "listen up fucktard, and do this shit immediately".

I also like "respectfully" which is used in place of "you moron", and "with respect" which is used in place of "dumbass".

I just accidentally opened this thread instead of the 'TV/Movie Recommendations' one.

So I guess this counts as a moan.

How difficult is it to get a Big Mac set, in McD!

Well that's what I ordered at Central, number came up, Mac and nam daeng on counter, waited for fries, none came, picked up and took to table and returned for fries, crew busy dealing with other orders, loads of fries in the bin, finally got someone's attention, asked about my fries, guy calls out to girl that I didn't get my fries, she replies yes I did, comes over, asks me if I got my fries, I say no, she says she put fries with my order, I turned and gestured to table sporting Mac and drink, she takes this as an invitation for a search, goes over and looks for fries, doesn't find any, I start turning out my pockets, farang customers crack up, guy goes over to dish out a portion, she calls out something and disappears into the back, another guy says something, fries guy dumps fries back and gives me an upsize with smile and shrug.

Gotta luv'em, each day a new event.

^ Serving 3 documented items does seem to be a bit much for them at times.

Had a Burger King voucher for Whopper meal and pack of Chicken Strips, take away.

    Served.

    Go home.

Whopper and fries in the bag, along with 17,000 sachets of ketchup and tissues, no Chicken Strips.

    Was absolutely livid.

    Yup, absolutely.

You can't be complacent with checking anything a Thai has done.

    True.

Most Thais check change, purchases, the lot before leaving.

Mrs is grumpy. (That's my moan. It's never nice to have a grumpy woman moping around).
After a morning of her getting frustrated with Thai banks and their silly rules, she (and all government teachers) has just been ordered by the District Ed officer to attend the local coronation ceremonies on Monday.
I can't fault her line, "By ordering people to respect someone he's just making more people disrespect someone".

Do these uppity power-hungry local officials realise that "Someone" may not rquire everyone to pay homage and that he may even be offended if he knew...and that the local Hitler will get no kudos from anybody, just a lot of resentment from those lower down.

That might be the case in your area but it's not that way in all of Thailand. My understanding is that (in my area) school heads make the decision to tell their teachers to go to an event and that some heads will and some will not. Apparently, school heads in towns and cities (ในเมือง) are more likely to tell their teachers to go than school heads in countryside (บ้านนอก) schools.

I'm sure you're right. Fact remains, the provincial director has ordered all teachers (gov) to attend on this public holiday here in Songkhla province. Reason for Mrs Naam to moan.
As Baldrick said above. Reinforcing a perceived sense of power. And as I said, pointlessly.

Possibly, but just as likely he wants to gain Brownie points from those above him. Whichever way, I'm sure Mrs Maanaam can find a suitable reason not to go if she feels strongly about it. There must be some bug or flu going around at this time of year.
