Gentleman, lets not spend too much time reminiscing on the good old days. Now, do I go for an accent cravat who's colour is at odds with my salmon pink broad ribbed cords; say a mustard yellow or choose the same colour but with a pattern distinction ... say polka dots. I'm going a bit retro and perhaps controversially, some 1inch platform boots in a kind of camel colour with green top cap accents. Gonna get noticed.

Sinuses feel like I got punched in the face by a Mongolian wrestler- actually quite worried about the winter. If food is making me unhealthy I can change what I eat, but I can hardly change the air I breathe.

If only there were a simple way of finding out the facts 'on the ground' (and in the air) before accepting a job offer...

If one travels to say Ecuador which is "high-up" where the air is thinner. If the polutiion stays the same number is it worse as there is more pollution as percentage of air?

Or knowing just how bad it was in reality. I did find a expat group on Facebook, it seems to be ruled by a bloke who simple leaves posts such as "Why?" and "Perhaps..." or just riddles.

I keep forgetting to put my mask on, the only person to blame is myself.

Good point. The measurement is "weight of particulate matter per unit volume of air". The air is less dense but there is still xx micrograms of pollution in any given lungful of air.
Maybe if the "thin" air makes you breath more, then your going to inhale more pollution over a period of time.

Mandy...you know about dave's esl, right?

OK so not many people posting there anymore, but I'd have thought there are still enough people and enough info already there for you to find out the basics of UB and the school.

Used International School Review in the closed forum area- most said it was not that bad but you had to take precautions like a mask, my apartment came with an air filter which helps quite a bit. The ISR is overwhelmingly negative, if anywhere was going to be moany, that place would be it!

Hopefully a wind will blow through town soon and take the lingering smog out into the steppe.

I'm neither a child not elderly, they really get hit by it apparently. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any really old people, which is somewhat concerning now I think about it.

    First speeding fine in yonks.

    Six lane major road.

I got fined for doing 68klm/h in a 60 zone

The fine is a 6 pack short of $200

There are 7 other cars in the photo (it's a 6 lane road) ... but they are convinced it's mine.

Read a few of the local forums re disputing the fine and the general thought was to get over it and pay up.

^ I'd fight it out of principle. If there is not conclusive proof just their strong feeling, someone up higher will see it's a waste of their time and resources to go to court over it.
