Do you have B type blood? Many ppl that I know who have type B blood are more prone to mozzies. I heard that from a colleague, and I don't know if there was actual science to that claim.
Oddly enough, my sister, who has B blood, is LOVED by mozzies. Sometimes, we would be sitting together, and she would get swarmed, while I wouldn't get a bite. I'm type O. I've noticed that mozzies in PI don't like me much.
But the mozzies in Myanmar did! Even when I applied anti-mozzie lotion, they still attacked me. I had a silly thought that maybe they liked the smell of my 'fresh, tourist blood'. Lol. Upon getting back to PI, I was scared that I would get dengue or malaria, since I felt a bit feverish after my trip.
Luckily, I didn't get either illness, and it was prolly just fatigue, since I made a gruelling touring schedule. Btw, I looked at a malaria distribution map & some parts of Myanmar have it. Knowing that, I know it was silly (and a bit foolish) of me to not have taken anti-malaria medications prior to the trip.
