Had to pop over to Felixstowe to run the daughter in law to hospital Wednesday , after I paid a quick visit to the Landgard terminal at the end of the docks one of the Evergreen fleet moored unloading , ironically The Ever Art so not so much a painting but a sketch with the shitty old bits left in the back of my car as I’d come out without my proper gear

nice to see the little yellow foot ferry from Harwich make an appearance as I sat there

I took a small canvas to Samed with me and painted a beach scene. The water colours didn't do too well but it was an enjoyable few hours.

Hi Cujo , thanks ,, no hobby artist only ,, tbh I can’t give em away these days ,, a lot of the art world has been decimated by this shock value photoshop garbage printed on large canvasses , churned out by the thousands , sold very cheaply just to fill spaces on peoples walls .

People will tell you they are nice when I’m out painting but when it comes to it most will spend £30 on a few beers and a takeaway before they would buy one .

They way of the world. Is that what you sell some of your small pieces for? I would have thought they’d be a lot more?

Yes Wills if anyone is even interested at that sort of money .

Its a great hobby for sure , as long as you have a bonfire now and again ,, they do tend to pile up .

Potentially we could be moving very soon to a bigger detached bungalow , which has an area we can and will put an outdoor cabin , studio type thing , it will double as a keep fit place for Jan , so feeling a bit more positive about going forward

Bit more progress shots of the recent sunrise I began last week for you

Next progress shots for you ,, bit by bit I’m getting there , different drying times and layers of paint ,, trying to bring it all together

I will now let this dry then go back over it to kick it into shape a bit and get rid of things that annoy me.

Its important at this stage with oil to remain disciplined enough to walk away and wait for the process to develop

So here we are ,, I’m done with this one now ,, sitting in a frame I got made years ago to house a watercolour I did .

Hopefully someone will give me something for it this weekend

Don't get me wrong, I like it. I was just saying it looks different, I guess that's because of the limited colour palette, gives it quite an interesting character.
