Yes thanks , it’s not quite as easy as it looks sometimes trying to change a flat one dimensional board into a shaped surface with hopefully some feeling of movement in it

Continual rain here at the mo so couple of little practice pieces on oil paper , doing a still life today of three onions lol things must be bad ,, but it’s all good learning

Wow, they look seriously lifelike. I must admit when you mentioned you were painting onions I was skeptical, but that looks fantastic!

Yeah , cheers Wills there is a way to record with a brush and some paint and a surface ,, it’s just getting the ducks in order , or in this case the onions ,, gonna have a go at some grapes next , but gonna take a lot more time over this one and hopefully generate a saleable piece

Painted on a 1000 by 500 mm deep edge canvas as specified by the client

They are very pleased with the result and gave me a very nice tip on top of the job

This was very early morning just as the light was breaking

Started painting this little still life on Sunday ,, went back into paint the next layer yesterday and the dear little wife had been in and nicked two of the lemons for a drink , she said ,, oh I thought you had finished ,,, no dear that was just the first layer .

Little bit of a one hour daub on the prom in the hometown Friday afternoon , straight over one of the old failures ,, not a painting as such just an enjoyable hours learning and chatting to the locals and having a larf

Looks good, you didnt need to paint a base over that old painting? And if it's oil wouldnt the brush strokes and texture show through?
