Have a great holiday Nige, I know you like to cycle..
Good question Joe
I do have photos and they are the awesome kind of photos i.e. grainy pre-digital film so I will have to dig them out
I cycled round several of the Canary Islands with panniers and a tent: Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife
That was back in my late 20s. I was a shoe-gazing shrinking violet with the ladies back then but I do recall that the 13th lady I ever shagged in my life was a 2 week tourist with a Midlands accent on Gran Canaria
We were both wandering alone round the busy 18-30 bar complex when we somehow ran into each other on foot and ended up pairing up to take advantage of the 2 for 1 lout-lager offers
After our 4th bar we went for a stroll in a tree-lined park and I let my swinging hand brush casually against the back of hers, as if by accident, to which she slipped her hand in mine and the deal was sealed.
The only lady I have ever shagged without knowing her name. Somewhere around the 3rd bar I think we both realised that we had been chatting for an hour without exchanging names and it became a kind of game for the rest of the evening not to ask.
It was her last night before her flight and she woke early and quietly gathered her things while I slowly roused from my slumber. Our eyes met as she paused in the doorway to look back at me, before she silently slipped out without a word.
I wonder to this day, what was the name of the English rose...
So nearly Joe ,, it’s the next one along just north of it ,, btw we love Arieta had many lunch breaks and painted there over the years , will try and dig a painting out from there , also we buy a couple of the green papayas that grow in the gardens there to take home
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
You've got me reminiscing about my time there now.
Watched this video recently..
Spotted my beachfront house on the video.
It had snorkeling and harpoon equipment in the garage.
One day I swam out in the crystal clear waters and harpooned a tuna through its back.
The spear stuck in the sea bed and the fish swam around in circles till I pulled out the harpoon and half of the fishes back.
Funnily enough it survived as I saw it swimming the next day.
I had initially swam out looking for an expensive anchor that my boss had lost weeks previously and had promised a Ł500 reward for its recovery.
Happy days.
Shalom
Flogging timeshares, right?
^Nice Monet-esque colour palette there Nige
Something a little different , on our recent lanzarote holiday I picked up 6 of these small oval shaped canvas boards , thought I’d give em a go see if I get any interest in sales .
Might just be novelty value , anyway if they do sell these ones was only 80 cents and we are back to lanzarote in a couple of months time so I will buy some bigger size ones.
Anyway , Sunday I went down to Flatford on a glorious day and the young bulls were playing ball in the right place
Oil on oil canvas panel
Looks good. What would you sell them for?
Thanks Wills ^ little ones like the above would go for around the Ł20 mark then larger would be pro rata according to size .
I actually quite like this painting composition and I reckon I could make a good serious proper painting from it on a large box canvas , if all else fails and that don’t sell it’s something I would quite like on my living room wall , so it wouldn’t be a complete waste of time and money
Do you ever dream about a pic and paint it Nige?
I had some a few identical vivid dreams last night that woke me up a few times and i felt compelled to sketch it.
Nothing like your calibra.
A giant rock on top off three branches I know what it means before the armchair Freudians jump in...
What does it mean Joe?
No Joe ,, if I ever painted or even sketched any of my dreams I’d probably end up inside
Ok so here’s a thing ,, apparently people like cows ,, or I should say my impressionist blobs of cattle.
Now I have completed a second practice of the same painting I’ve last put on here and both of them have sold ,, now the reason I mention that is I daubed both of them as practises trying out some new colours .
Im on my way to painting a large proper one of this , when I finally get round to it
Anyway this one oil on mdf in fact right over one of my old failures
I think I would prefer the tree more offset. Perhaps Right third of the painting.
Yes very good observation Wills , your spot on ,, in fact that’s exactly what I set out to do , but it all kinda ended up central .
When I do a biggun of it I will make sure it’s a third over
Sorry bout the lack of pics been mega busy with jobs ,, anyway I thought as I have time I would do another paint along with mother type paintings for you to see the process of how I eventually end up screwing it up
So here is the ref picture I took of Walton pier early morning , and a couple of stages to begin .
