That Flatford bridge painting didn’t hang about long , and the neighbour of the person that bought it has now kindly commissioned me to do another painting ,, happy days.
In the meantime I have managed to get hold of a load of 6mm off cuts of MDF and for the first time I’ve cut these boards down to size with my table saw , not only given me very accurate precisely cut boards also at a fraction of the time pissing around with a tendon saw .
I have just done a couple of observation pieces , NO sketching just straight in with the paint only allowing 45 mins on each piece , these are not paintings just pure observation , trying to paint what is actually in front of you exactly as it is NOT what you think you are seeing , if that makes sense
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
I’m sorry I don’t have any online catalogues etc ,, but thanks for your interest ,, it’s nice to see one has sparked a memory for you
That’s just all made up from observation and my imagination Wills sorry ,, it’s all in my head lol
Excellent work Nige.
Your best yet. You really captured the reflection.
Hi Nige, hope all's good. What age did you start painting, and have you had any formal training? I suspect it's just raw artistic talent, though.
Hi mate , yes we’re both very well Thankyou , trust you are to ,, started oil paint about age 13 when I was earning pocket money to buy the paint ,, still have some from those days ,, no training mate other than learning from library books and trial and error really , limited talent but allways learning and enjoying my hobby more than ever nearly four years into glorious retirement ,, cheers
It’s a nice picture but there is really nothing of interest in that scene. nothing to draw the viewer in
Yes 100% agree ,, it was football day and a parking blanket ban anywhere near where the misses was having her hair done ,, this was just the first place I came across for a couple of hours fresh air I just didn’t have time to fanny around driving plus rain was forecast within 2 hours.
My alternative was to sit in the living room where the wife was getting done and listen to her husband bore the shit out of me about what a shite place Thailand is and how he’s never going to set foot there again etc blah blah ,, tbh I avoid all these wife / husband gatherings here for that very reason ,, I just Chuck a couple of tins of beer in the room for them say hello and politely explain I’m off out painting and will see them later.
