Praise be the Virgin Mary and all the saints
Yeah cheers Wills ,, like I say it’s gonna take a bit of sorting out but it will be great if it comes off .
Something I never thought I’d be saying this time last year , I’ve managed to get superb reasonably priced travel insurance and our flights are booked for late February to come over for a month and help with the outlaws,, hope to paint out as well
Ok so a tiny little wet sloppy alla prima oil on an odd bit of board to end the year at Frinton today
All the best everyone for a healthy new year

Love it! The waves look alive.
Another tiny nocturnal oil , as I take Jan to work in the morning ,, the last of the Xmas lights
Attachment 121067
Thanks Wills ,, yes a tad different , but I suppose the time of the year ,, everything and anything tbh is up for a challenge when you have retirement time in your hands .
Excellent news on the health situation all my bloods have just about returned to normal ,, managed to get excellent travel insurance and we have flights booked on the 23rd of Feb to come over for a month
Great news, Nigel.
:tumbs:
First painting of 2025 from me , back to my favourite place , a view into the Dedham vale from the road into east bergholt , within a stones throw of where Constable was born and where his parents are buried .

Fabulous!
My work pales in comparison to Nigel's but here are my artworks (paint by numbers) and cross-stitch projects from last year.
Attachment 121268
^I chose this one because it reminded me of Bruges and/ or Heidelberg (old town part)

^vase with red flowers.
^This was my least fave one. I bought 3 bare paintings/ canvasses from 1 Lazada seller: old city, red flowers & cats (has been previously posted. Some of the paints for this one had hardened and weren't usable. I tried to soften them using isop alcohol or acetone, didn't work. As such, I used alternative colors from my past projects.
After painting 3 projects, I wanted to do something different so I bought a cross stitch thingy from Lazada. This one took several months to finish and was also harder on the eyesight. I think I won't be cross-stitching again.

^the cross stitch cloth & threads used
Attachment 121271
^work in progress. That's the back side 'coz in the front part, the cloth is colored & it's tough to see which parts have been done
Attachment 121272
^finished product; still needs to be framed
They’re a lot of work, nicely done, Katie.
^thanks, willy. Yes, they were a lot of work, especially the cross stitch project. However, I enjoy it since it's relaxing. I listen to music, podcasts or news while doing it.
I bought a new paint-by-numbers project for the new year. This was from a different vendor and to my (pleasant) surprise, the canvass came with a frame! The previous ones didn't. The "cats" and the "old city" paintings are displayed somewhere in my flat. The "red flowers" and "cottage cross stitch" are folded and kept in storage, for now.

@nigel - Great work, esp the sea/ waves painting! Looking forward to what you'll be painting in Thailand. Maybe the mighty Mekong? :)
Beautiful work Katie ,, btw your work doesn’t pale away in comparison to mine or anyone else posting on here ,, it’s beautiful and individual as each person who takes the trouble to post.
The main thing is you have an interest and have a go.
Im so sorry being the thikko I am I have no clue now on here how to send repo , but I’ll send you a virtual one for your excellent work .
Thanks for contributing
So Frinton tbh is not the most painterly coastline as it’s fairly featureless , but this last week we have had this very calm cool misty grey atmosphere , so I painted this little one with no tourists only the gulls around
Oil on board about 11” by 14””
Btw if anyone on here would like any of my paintings to hang up in your outside loo or use for target practice please let me know and if I have them I will bring them with me ,, IF you are going to Burriram for the moto GP we will be there and I can pass em over to you ..

A mate of mine has a small farm nearby about 170 acres which he used to farm every inch of ,, these days he just gets paid by the government to grow weeds , whilst we import so much of our food fro Europe .
This is a small 10” by 12” roughly arcrlic sketch I did over there last summer on a bit of canvas for his office
Later on I will do an oil of this for him so I can get the colours right , acrylics annoy the hell out of me , but they do come in handy at times

Nice work Nigel.
I have noticed there are many antique tractors sitting in gardens and yards down under.
Attachment 121655
They are very photogenic and that makes me think they would make crackling good painting subjects.
Sure would mate ,, you could achieve a lot with a very limited pallete
Nice job, Nige.
In our local Aldi they have in the middle isle packs of 12 oil paint tubes for just £3.99 that makes them just 33p a tube .
So I thought they will be a nice light little pack to bring with me on holiday
Thought I’d give em a try out today with a bit of an impression along the beach from us in Walton
Attachment 121868
We are getting quite an extended period of cold , wet and damp weather this year , a vale of mist hanging about for the most of the day
This is a scene from down the Naze at Walton as you walk back up the slope towards the town with this lovely old tree ,, all mangled and tied up in knots ,, what you can’t see is directly to the left is the cliff that’s being heavily eroded bit by bit so it’s only a matter of time before this poor old tree will end up in the North Sea with the rest of it .
Oil on board about 11” by 14”

A small seasonal subject ,, blood oranges on a tea plate , oil on 8” square deep edge box panel
