    This is spot on.

You desire your own destruction, Scamp, but don't possess the necessary moral-fibre to support a full-blown deathwish, so engineer ways in which it will happen to you all by itself.

I believe therapy - while not a waste of time - is incomparable to a real friend who truly gives a monkeys about you as an actual person as opposed to being a customer. Understanding your problems doesn't make them go away. Knowing somebody else gives a toss about makes them easier to live with until they go away & all problems go away in the end.

The catch is you'll have a completely different set of problems to contend with by the time you've sorted these ones out. It's a constant fucking merry-go-round of grief but sometimes you get off, it's good, then you get back on again. Full circle fifty times & gone nowhere.

Someone said somewhere -& I like this a lot : Don't cry because it's over - smile because it happened.

I was fostered & all that. Never worked out wherever I went. Kicked out the care home at 16 with a bedsit in Miles Platting & £150 to build a life with - you know how it works. Sent the £150 on a party first night & never achieved more in life than an average wage or an average home or anything others aspire to, no matter how hard I tried, since that. You're not on your own mate. At the end of the day you don't choose who you're going to settle with. You settle for the person who settles for you.

I personally feel that every poster should have the courage to blurt out their life and lady problems on the forum as often as possible.

This was the same as below - why can't I just delete the whole thing? Have to submit something so I'm typing this.

Look at it this way - would an assistant manageress or MTV presenter be interested in a guy who dates whores?

Me thinks you need to grab a hold of yourself, straighten yourself out, stop feeling sorry for yourself, and then when that task is completed, set your sights a bit higher when it comes to women.

Cutting drown on your drinking sounds like a good first step.

Sorry if I come across as a little bit hash, but I think most other posters here are pussyfooting around. This is your life, and you can make it a success or a failure. Be a man, for fucks sake!
To be honest, would I really want to date an MTV presenter? If they are as false as they are on telly which is considerably likely if they are Hongkongese, they would bore the shit out of me with their faux U.S. accent, ligger lifestyle and ignorant ramblings.

I do believe I am attracted to people who have been through the mill a bit and I do like to try to help people who have a low self esteem. I am remarkably good at preaching what I should practice but find it very irritating when the advice is not taken or the compliments not absorbed, which is why you would have every right to be irritated at me if I was that bad - which I have indeed been in the past, but I have quit the ciggies (3 weeks now) and have decided to quit my 2 cans of beer every night. The going out and getting pissed avarages once a week which is not cause for concern for any farang in Asia now is it, let's face it - and I am trying to eat regularly and, as I always have done, avoid junk food of any kind.

I know that one of the symptoms of depression is talking on internet forums (well previously TV, now just this one) - that may sound like I am taking the piss but it gives me some communicative respite from the miserable, noisy, unfair funfair bubble I am currently stuck in.

I know for a fact I am not the only depressed person on Teak Door, so what can we do to get the seratonin flowing again?

here are some ideas - plese correct me if I am wrong and feel free to add new ideas.

1 - Eat bananas because they have potassium in them.

2 - Don't work too many hours (can't do anything about that one myself)

3 - Go to gym because that releases endorphines (whatever they are)

4 - Avoid reading books on how to think positive as they are written by people who want your money and are full of repetative bollocks that anyone with half a brain can figure out for themselves.

5 - Avoid booze and cigs.

    6 - I can't think of anything else.
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Well I've had a banana and I'm on the green tea.

Let's steer this thread toward curing depression, who knows, we may save somebody's life in Pattaya... It's not like it's an uncommon condition among farangs... If I can't get my own shit together I want to help others get theirs together.

Tom Cruise seems pretty chuffed with himself. Let's all start studying Scientology. WARNING - it does require every penny you will ever earn in your lifetime.

Before you can find a cure you have to find the problem, worry more about yourself than saving somebody's life in Pattaya.

A good start would be to get out of the "fun"fair that you despise, but that give's you something to complain about.

At least he's earning some money from it. Looking forward to that round of beer.
As for something to complain about, do you think there's a shortage with or without the job?

Actually it was 400 HKD both times and she was like a bag of spuds.

I have since spent roughly 100 HKD per day for the past month on phone calls and sms's.

She will be here soon so hopefully I will get some return on my investment, I've got three days off and she's hot to trot now she knows me better.

Well, you're not inside that pram anymore, and the hoes dancing on the table aren't your mom.
Actually, I wonder if this is some late sort of revenge, messing up the hookers and "conquering their hearts"?
They certainly have a handful with a little boy like yourself they didn't bank on to start with.

Some of us simply aren't mentally or emotionaly equipped to deal with things in the same manner as you seem capable of doing, Stroller. Does this make us (I don't know who I'm refering to by us, but individually we know who we are) different to you? Yes. Mad? Possibly, to a slight degree. Does not preching jihad all over the shop make us different? Yes. But when it comes to supporting a guy who's having it a bit rough at the minute & offering to help people who feel the same or sticking up for a bunch of deraged, teacher-killing fanatics we all know who both of us would offer a hand of support to, any day of the week.

Thank god we're different. I would dare to say we're better.

I'm not trying to get a rise or pick a fight & this isn't meant to be insulting.

Nah, not taking it as an insult.
I had my fair share of fecked up relationships, my present one isn't ideal either.

It's just easy to see with someone who keeps posting his and others' personal life all over the net. You kinda feel you want to advise and help when you first read it, but a few years down the line, you might feel like posting the naked truth as well...

I know what you're saying but victimising them doesn't help, it just keeps them, well... victimised. Sounds to me he hates his workmates (can't blame him, I fucking hate pikeys), his girl's giving him the runaround & he just wants a little advice. We've all been there.
