JJ, did they shave the fur or pick it off by hand?

I ask because in the PI before killed a goat they force fed it some leaves, cut the throat, put something inside its cut throat, carefully slit a lower leg and used a bicycle pump to pump up the belly like a balloon via that slit, probably an artery, then used boiling water and a very sharp knife to shave it to about the condition of the bear in your pic after they had spread the leaves on it.

Couldn't eat it but was fascinated by the process before they started hacking away into bite-size bits.

Btw good mini-thread, can't green again.

Yes, I did. Apparently the old boys doing the cooking were a bit concerned that I didn't hang around and eat with them. I explained to Joy that I really didn't think it was necessary to kill the creature. She sort of agreed but explained that the bloke who shot it would sell some of the meat and that was how he made his living. Fair enough, said I, but why did he have to kill animals that were so rare. Long pause on that......

    Maybe more later.

There are a few of those things in a cage next to the main market in Paxse Lao. I smelled them before I saw them, horrible smell. I had never seen anything like it, I actually was thinking it was some sort of monkey bear hybrid.
    Never saw one in Thailand.

And the reason for that might be the Thai mentality that "if it lives and you can kill it you can eat it as well"?

In another 10 years the Thai wilderness will be the safest place on earth since there will not be any living animal, snake or insect left!

    Retake.

Well fok off then and re-read.

You're obviously searching for an argument and you wont get it here. Facts are facts.

You're bored and looking for confrontation.

Go elsewhere, I gave that shit up a long time ago.

Isn't that the truth. What a disgusting and even barbaric thing for them to do. Pick the fur off by hand? I mean if they were going to do it, couldn't the just shave it off?

No wonder so many animals are now 'endangered' species in Thailand, and throughout the world.

Animals are not treated humanely, especially in places like China, Korea (dogs), and Thailand, apparently.

    Strange point of view.
WTF difference does it make, plucked or shaved.

actually plucked is better because it pulls it out by the roots and nothing is left behind, though it doesn't look like they were too thorough. But I know what your saying I was wondering the same thing myself....

    Retrospectively considered your comment.

After careful consideration I've come to the conclusion

That you are misguided, naive, ignorant and a twat.

    No offense mind.

Plus that, you are most likely a conservationist and do not belong posting in this thread where they are killing endangered animals anyway.

Wait a damn minute. I don't think shaved or plucked makes a difference, but plucked just seems so barbaric. Disgusting. How'd you like it if I plucked out your hairs all over your body?
