I wasn't pointing at you, it was a general statement about the comments in this thread and elsewhere, the worst ones got deleted, btw.
The reaction to some of my food topics somewhat lessened my enthusiasm to make further efforts, some may be pleased to know.

And yes, yeast dumplings do 'work', a German thing apparently, a recipe from my late granmother.
Add some sugar when making the dough, and they go well with fruit preserves for dessert.

^ Thanks for the tips on the dumplings. Only ever made suet ones, could be good to try these out.

Apologies if I cast aspersions on your other culinary threads.

    ^Tuna

Does Stroller have any preferences on Dog breeds ? For instance does a St Bernard make for a tastier stew than a Border Terrier ?

depends, i read that in china animals are made to suffer a lingering and painful death because that tenderises the flesh.

    Now that is interesting

I have always wanted to know why a cat will play with a mouse for half a day before killing and eating it. Could that be the reason ?

I don't have a vast experience of eating dog-meat, I don't know if the breed makes a difference, but the way they're fed (and cooked, obviously) is important.
Yes, in the Philippines they also like to 'tenderise' the meat by slowly beating the animal to death - not something I approve of. All our animals are well cared for and have a happy life before they are killed swiftly and with as little suffering as possible (if they are killed).

Are you one of those, Sparky, or is there a bit more variety of taste in your diet?

As an American, I just can't fathom chopping up a dog, marinating it, BBQing it and serving it with two veg. It's not our culture, it's not how we do things. Of course, by that I mean we like things deep fried.

And we really like hot dogs.

But seriously, I don't understand why Rigger skins the dogs. Here in my jungle village, the crispy skin is the best part. But just like eating pussy (cats) it's best if the hair is removed.

I've eaten dog in Korea, kagogi, but it wasn't my favorite.

Ok then, here another cooking tip (without pics in consideration of people's sensitivities):
    "Neua Mah Det Diau Ping":
Slice the meat into 1/2 - 3/4 inch slices, brush with soy-sauce, salt and coarsely-ground peppercorns and dry in the sunlight for a day.
BBQ over slow fire, serve with sticky rice and Som-Tam or steamed garden veggies.

    -yummy!

    For sure in Korea too.

My boss once asked me if I would like to try a Chinese pancake. I said "What's the difference between a Chinese pancake and a normal one? Is it tortured first?"

For some reason she didn't find that very funny. Koreans and Chinks are too close to call in many things.
