How to Hire Thai Employees for a Business in Shanghai

This is my first ever thread in this section. I'm involved in opening a high end Thai style spa in Shanghai. I'm doing consulting for it and I'm responsible for deciding on the treatments, the recruitment and the training of staff.

The partners are three Thai ladies, 2 of whom are in BKK and one of whom is in Shanghai. We've agreed on the fact that all staff will be Thai, and I'm sourcing out people here in Dubai.

We also want to interview spa staff who are in Thailand now, but we're not sure how to go about finding them. I know there are agencies in Thailand that send staff overseas, but even this is unkown to me or to the partners.

My question is this. What would be the best way to source Thai spa staff, who are qualified in massages, facials and body treatments, and who have decent English? The spa is targetted mainly at expats in Shanghai.

I hope that makes sense. I appreciate any help in this.

backinpd (what's pd btw?) thanks for that. that would be a great place to start. Our concern is that they need to have good English skills.

Butterfly, uhhhhh, that's not in our business plan. Should we add it?

    Hi Lao DA

Why not speak to the people at Dragonfly in PVG?
I think it would be quite difficult to get Working Visas for this occupation these days considering the abundance of workers currently in China.

Regardless of which "ending" you set out to achieve... a quality of massage by trained Chinese is always better than Thai.

They just need to spruce up the venues and get the ambient smell right
(smoldering double happiness butts and some one "hoiking" in the back room is not that cosmic)
