If you have a good product there's probably a market in lots of countries. You may consider looking for customers around the world, separate shipping costs from the product costs, the greater the order the lower transport costs will be, this will encourage them to spend more.

I would also recommend getting the customer to pay import taxes, it's their country, their laws, you'll have enough on your plate here. Don't even consider containers, companies or even visa issues at this stage. Maybe send one box with Fedex or DHL and see how it goes tax wise. Then you will know for sure what to expect.

Grand idea NR, exporting the soi dog puppies to the rest of the world - shame on you!

^ Hey, last month I sent a dog to Germany. One's gone to US, recently. In 12 days one is going to Paris (but will be living in Prague and in the French countryside) and one is scheduled to go to the Netherlands, soon.

However, exporting soi dogs is not a good business idea. Too much work & no profit! (The dogs do pretty well out of it, though!)
Thanks again for replies. Another good idea, Smithson.

NR, I have no idea what the product is, but if you are importing into the UK, you may need to condier EU law.

Other than that, the only thing I would say is keep in mind your buyer. Not easy to do as I often think things from Thailand will easily sell here in Aus and when I ask around the answer I get is usually "not a chance"

Thanks for the advice, William. Sorry, I know I'm being mysterious about what it is. I just want to see if it's viable before I 'announce' it.

Yep, I thought that they might not be what is wanted or needed, which is why I want Mum & friends to take in samples & photos to test the waters before I start buying stock.

    Ya Dom?

Always thought about exporting that, looked into it, but it would have been a nightmare.

Don't announce what you are going to sell NR. Keep it to yourself.

Don't want every lazy bastard jumping on your ship,

^ Seriously, I wanted to say that I once thought about importing those but forgot the name! But turns out I'm the only non-Somchai who likes them.

    ^ The powdered ones?

Need to check up on if it's classed as a medicine, or herbal health products etc.

The missus went through customs with a bottle of that brown powder. I wish she wouldn't do things like that but she just doesn't see the harm in it.

NR, kept it to yourself, unless there's a need to tell someone don't. If it goes well, keep that to yourself also. Cash in difficult to come by here, there'll always be ppl ready to copy.

Dried and ground soi dog pups are lightweight and easily shipped in a normal large envelope. Simply reconstitutes by adding water.

The pic above is before he goes into the microwave process.

The missus gets small bottles of "special Thai balm" sent over here which the locals rave about. Apparently it cures everything from colds, headaches to arthritis. I believe the ingredients are camphor, eucalyptus and menthol. Camphor can be poisonous, so unlikely to pass western health standards.
