Yes we've covered the ease with which she could prove existence of the gold, and ownership, but she still has no proof of theft, and theft by Data.

Latest position is that the Police are only trying to pin traspass on me, and they are trying to say that I entered the house at night. The OK report that I obtained from the Police in the first place says that I can go and live in my house!! As it was I didn't go into the house at night. Have to go back to see prosecutor on 22 Jan for their decision.
    Happy new year!!!

Are you saying you have official documents granting you permission to enter and live in the house, and that you entered and lived there after receiving that authority - and they're doing you for trespass?

Doesn't sound right, but I'd start by making a notarised copy of that document and leave the original in a safe place.

    Yep!!
I didn't get the time to actually live in it.
I had to get the 2 pumps working first, then a quick visit to a friend in HH.
When I got back, someone had already called the ex on the coconut telephone.
So she came speeding back and made her report.

Having now been to the prosecutors office several times, they are not proceeding further. The papers were sent to BKK for rubber stamping and are now back. The case has been 'dropped'.

No, I think she was advised against it, too hard to 'prove'.
    Thanks.

Well, the gold was in the house before he went there, although, unfortunately, the receipts to prove it ever existed got lost.

    And it wasn't there later.

Do not doubt the Thai detectives ability to add 2 and 2.
I think CSI Bangkok what be a funny tv show.

I had the understanding that even though foreigners can not own land they could own the buildings on that land and it could not be taken by force. I will have my name on the paperwork the house I build on my wife’s land. It's not that I don't trust her, we've been married 14 years and will not build for another 15 or so but I don't trust anyone else.

And make sure HE is not representing her as well. Have known this to happen in Thailand. Farang unaware that,, whom he thinks is his knight in shining armour is in actual fact, sticking the knife into his back and twisting it, and all with a big, though serious smile, on his face. It was probably her intention to pick you clean from the very beginning so i wish you well in keeping, what rightfully belongs to you. .

I find it interesting in these situations to have one of those little voice recoreders you see in duty free's in your pocket. have a chat with your wife and she may say something of interest like "Fok you, I am going to take evry last cent from you and your just a dirty Farang with no chance" or "I will get someone to kill you".

    May come in handy.

get a little digital camera as well and take lots of photos, that will make her nervous as well and watch your back. Do not let her know where you live.

Yes a bloke I knew was having a messy divorce and police charges were brought against his wife for theft. He had to replace his lawyer when he found out he was shagging his (ex)mrs.
