Traveling to Thailand with Kitchen Cutlery

[PHP]Please let me know if I am post to an incorrect forum.

I am retiring to Thailand soon and (among other things) am picky about my kitchen cutlery.

Wanting to do things legally and above board. Ive been trying to read up on the subject and want to know the hive mind’s opinion on the following...

Plan to wrap cutlery and block in cling wrap. This to prevent cutlery from falling loose and endangering customs personnel.

Wrapped block placed in checked baggage.

Despite this as a recommendation from several sources I’m a bit uncomfortable taking said checked bag trough customs. Does anyone see a potential issue, better way, or am I over thinking here?

    ^ Overthinking.

Wrap them up, seal 'em in a cardboard box, and put in checked luggage.

No problems with cutlery in your checked luggage. I’ve carried a kitchen knife set with no problems.

Don’t bring your eye brow scissors carry on, though!

...or nail clippers, or suntan lotion. Got each confiscated once.

    Thank you.

I was confident on airport screening, wasn't certain about customs.

    I appreciate the quick reply.

Thailand is a great place to get kitchen knives, or what is actually called cutlery.

You don’t pay prices like these, of course.

Retractable metal tape measure. By the way one can bring spoons and forks (but not table knives) through TSA should you have a need.

Had to go look it up. Half a dozen potential meanings. From context, I will go with "please have patience".

Hit a wrong button when quoting. Formatting tag of some sort. I removed the end formatting, missed it at the beginning. Please disregard.
