My wife is in the process of selling her 30% share of a language school.

Both my wife and the owners are foreigners. The majority share holding partner is duplicitous snake of a woman. My wife holds a contract certifying her 30% share in the business.

We are worried about being scammed out of our money or loosing heavily if the school is sold after the imminent departure of my wife. She's been teaching, managing, advertising recruiting new students and supervising the small staff of foreign teachers... Basically when my wife leaves the school will cease to function and its retail value would also collapse. My wife's business partners are srewd and hard nosed my wife and I are both trained teachers and have little or no experience in running a business.

My only thought was to find a friend of ours who has friends in government and ask them to apply pressure on the errant owners.
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

When she leaves...May 2nd we"ll both be new employees at a demonstration school on the otherside of Bangkok. My wife has managed thr school singlehandedly for a year.It has utterly stressed her out Continuing in the same position is untenable.Between us we invested under 10,000 Sterling. Its alot of money for a couple of teachers but I'd rather see my wife at peace once more than putting her through further hardship...I'd love to hear anyones proposal to handle the situation ...But thinking of it philosophically...it's only money...

Sell your share of the business to the "snake", get as much as you can and bugger off. If the business fails, no problem.

Yeah business is not our thing. We are both not suited to business. The snake is from a poor family buy has attained considerable wealth-she buys 1500 USD handbags and enrols her daughter on 1000USD child star producing dance schools. My wife and I's investment is a meaningless pittance for her but you don't rise out of poverty by not seeking and scheming for every penny.

Yeah my mind took to the dark side as well. Giving the "snake's" husband a smack in the mouth for speaking to my wife in a manner akin to a Victorian Lord demeaning his servant. Then I started to think of well connected associates who could perhaps apply pressure on our behalf. ..

Well, you're going about it for the right reasons. If nothing else, you will always know you did the right thing.

Yet, the snake won't want to lose HER investment. Point that out to her and get what you can from it, even if it means a bit of subterfuge; Eg, make up a story that you both want to keep working, but as employees only and you need some cash for an emergency back home.
Get what you can and walk.
