Good jobs/careers for a Thai

I've met this bird recently who isn't a bar girl. She's got a degree in politics, is intelligent and respectable and she works for a hi tec manufacturing company doing production planning and client/account management.
Like a lot of Thai's despite the stereotype of them being lazy bastards), she works very hard and for very little money for long hours.
I was wondering if any of you guys know of any good jobs that pay well in Thailand and let people have more time off.
I know police, govt & army jobs are well paid because of the bribes they can receive, and whoring seems to pay well but I doubt it's her cup of tea. Any suggestions other than the ones I've just mentioned ?

Cheers

Bag a Farang then sit around the house all day eating somtam with her mates. The hardest thing for her will be riding to the ATM to send her family money.

Yet, he's not.
Instead, persuing the usual stereotypes.

SiLeakHunt - is this you asking, or her?

There are a lot of national holidays in Thailand and as a result few annual leaves days. She would get more as she gets more senior, but 10 a year is not uncommon for 0-5 years post graduate people. Just as in the "real world" she does not have the pick and chose of any job in Thailand - she is on a career path, and you would do well to support her with that. The fact that she is doing this as opposed to whoring herself needs to be commended. Far too often visitors to Thailand get bored of bar girls, make an effort to find a civie, and then when they realise these ladies have a career and a life and will not quit their job just to spend 3 weeks on holidays with the tourist, they then start to try and turn them into a bar girl. If you want a play thing to spend lots of time with you, get a freelancer hooker or a bargirl with no real job and career path you can toss up for her.

There is a perception in Thailand that if you are not ensconced in a job by 30, forget it, you will not get hired. This is partly true; which firm will hire a 35 year old with a 10 years gap in experience and asking more cash that a 25 year old. Not many. So, depending what age she is, she either needs to stay in it the job, or cling onto it.

So, If it is you asking, best ask what she wants with no pressure from you with regards what you want. If it is just what you want, her with you more, then don't be a tosser and disturb her career path just because you want a playmate for more time. If it is her asking, well tell her to decide and you will respect that.

She currently earns about 20 000 baht a month, she also works quite a way away from BKK and takes a company provided bus to her place of work which means getting up at 5am, leaving the house at 6 and arriving at best around 7:30/8 ish back home.

I'm not trying to interupt her career but maybe find an avenue which gives her a better quality of life whether she has a relationship with me or not.

cheers

OFF-TOPIC:
Luv the posts that start with "I met a gurl who isn't a whore"... Sheesh, congratulations.. The fact you managed to meet a woman who wasn't a whore, wobbles the mind. How long did it take you?

BACK ON TOPIC:
The "official minimum wage" in Bangkok is 300baht a day or usually a 9K baht a month salary. She's making more than double that so she's doin' just fine at 20K a month. I'm sure if it's a Thai company, she gets the obligatory Thai holidays off, probably gets medical, life insurance if she wants too.

Face it, she ain't gonna get "first world wages" in a "pissant developing third world country", especially holding a degree which is totally unrelated to what she's doing.

I'm sure she's dealing with it just fine, maybe you should too...

Open a stall at Chatuchak market. It's only open Friday to Sunday or something like that. Do any job that is paid through commissions alone. Insurance might be that way. Start a small business of some sort. Maybe find online work.

^ so chuck in her job for

1) a marketing traders gig, paying extorsionate rent to the mafia?
2) kick away her salary and benefits for a insurance scam gig where after a month she will likely get fuck all unless she has loads of friends or HiSo parents to buy the crap products?

How about leave her to follow her career and accept the fact that she is not a whore? Therefore, if she is happy and likes her jobs, the OP should support that?

By far their best option.

Seen back a few months ago a high-ranking government official stated plainly the best option for Thai women was to bag that said Farang?

I wasn't suggesting f@@king her life up on my account, just trying to angle her towards something better, one of the main reasons is that her company recently moved her office from BKK to out of town so she leaves at 6 am and gets home at 8:30/9 pm, 5 days a week and is home 6ish on Saturday for a derisory salary as well.
I generally try not to interfere with peoples lives but even if she doesn't stay with me long term I'm sure she can get a better job and more time for herself..

Cheers

If she is as educated, industrious, and hardworking as you state, then she doesn't need any help from a bunch of "ex-pats" on how to get a job.

Just like anywhere, experience and connections are very important. In Thailand, most government jobs will probably need a little "sugar" (tea money) to help the administrator decide on whether she is a good fit or not.

If you and her are living together, than maybe you can move somewhere more convenient to her job?

Good luck,

No, seriously, there are people making fortunes out of this.
Apparently.
Nobody can introduce me to one, but apparently they exist, a bit like God, you need faith.

I knew a chick a few years ago worked for Amway. She claimed to earn 250k a month to which I called bullshit. She showed me herpayslip and a few months later passed by my house selling these water filters for a bout 30k. She was in a red plate 3 series.
She declined my marriage proposal!

As far as the girl in OP goes, does she speak fluent English?

Reasonable, probably about 6 out of ten, I'm sure it would improve with practice, written is pretty good, closer to a n 8.

Sounds like the right person for the job of "Traffic Coordinator of an (international) Advertising agency. Plenty of big agencies in BKK.

Some small job descriptions:

Behind the scenes of an advertising agency's Traffic Department - the i.d.e.a. brand
The Structure of an Advertising Agency - The basic organizational structure of a typical ad agency

And a bit more general:

Oh come on mate. You are normally pretty sensible, but that is just dumb arse.

The women I meet pretty much every day are doctors, lawyers, administrators, scientists, dentists, clerks, sales representatives, secretaries, shop owners, in fact the whole range of middle class occupations.

Yes, there is a whole range of other employment like shop assistant, farm hand, factory worker, cleaner etc, but to say that a Thai woman needs to be "commended" for having a job instead of being a whore is a bloody insult to 90% of Thai women.
