    Can't find divorce papers

    hi...
i will soon be marrying my long time fiance, and what im concerned about is i cant get my hands on my divorce papers as it has been 15 years and have moved about a lot since then.i have read somewhere that when i go to the embassy (british) to sign the free to marry paperwork that i can just say im single and have not been married.does anyone know if i can do this?...apart from saying i have have never been married everything else is true and have been legally divorced for 15 years !!
    regards

Here is a link for you:

    https://www.gov.uk/copy-decree-absolute-final-order

Not too bad even if you don't know the court.

You need to follow the instructions at the Embassy Website to complete a signed affirmation to marry with a couple of contacts. Best not to lie mate....

US Embassy has a form to fill out. Fill out the form if this applies to you. NO proof of paperwork was required, just you're version of past marriage...marriages...divorce....divorces....

You never get it right the first time....

I got away with it! (so far anyway....)

The easiest way for me was to lie as my divorce was 25 years ago, there not going to check up!

Yes. I thought long and hard about how much respect I have for the Thai 'legal system' and thought fuck them.

well, if there are any problems with the present wife, she could use that as a convenient weapon

Been there and done it ten years ago. Same boat as you and went for the easy option. As we know from their lack of support for Brits in trouble, the embassy is only after the money you pay for the letter. Tell them this is your first marriage and you are single.

I had my divorce papers - both the Thai original version and the English translation - bronzed.

I have to admit that dipping balls of sticky rice into a grey-green mush that blows your head off doesn't over-excite me

but there are some dishes that are great

Larb (Laab) can be brilliant, for example, esp the duck version, although maybe they have Laos to thank for that
    I have reported your post

Indeed. I had laab last night. The only difference between my version and the local's version is that mine uses ingredients fit for human consumption. I try to avoid raw pieces of colon in my diet.
