    Question Building permits in bangkok?

Can I remodel a existing bungalow with some new walls, insulation, bigger elect panel, etc. Or does anybody care? Can you build 2 floors in height where there was only one before ? Especialy if it is better then the first
structure. I was in Chile and they did not know what I ment when I asked them about bldg permits while working on my hotel. Just engineers. This is on the Big river in bangkok, does that make it easier for me to be seen building this remodel. I know how to do all the work but must hire some help with my backand all the laws on farangs working.
Is it worth the effort for some property I dont own but can use for 5-10 years for current rent, let them keep it when I am gone.

You would need planning permission for this.

As far as building permits concerns go it really depends on where you are living. Upcountry, who cares.

However, in BKK you may be forced to get a builder's permit. If one does a little project then never mind. But, if you are going to add a room or two then the equation changes.
