My observation of Thai construction (and I'm in ural Issan.) is that once upon a time someone figured out a way to do things and that idea has been handed down from generation to generation.

Personally, I am very happy that there are no building codes; and I truely enjoy the creative process. Well, I hope to continue to enjoy the process, provided things don't fall down or tip over.
