Total Interior Renovation Of Our House.Okay we are now two days into a total renovati

Okay we are now two days into a total renovation of the interior of our house. New kids bedroom, including new built in cabinets and paint scheme, guest bedroom turned into study and futon bed room for guests with new paint scheme, with new desks for the kids built in, new office and Buddah room with more built in furniture and paint. New paint in the master bedroom, new tiles in the bath as well, new built in computer station.

Downstairs, new paint scheme for the whole house, new veneer on the built in wood now. New kitchen counter in kitchen one,and new paint scheme for the entire kitchen area . The only room not being changed is the downstairs bath. They say it should take 2 and a half weeks. I will post as we progress. The first ones will just be the mess. Of which there is quite a big one.

My wife and I are also talking about a full revamp of our family home including an elevator (6 person lift) instead of a staircase.

Looking forward to seeing your thread develop.

    ^ Lazy feckers!

We've just had a new kitchen installed as well as 2 AC units. Quite boring really, so I'll not bother posting pics.

Okay here is the start, the kids bedroom that was designed 12 years ago for two year olds. Its a small room so their office will be next door.

    The wallpaper and one bed.

Closet and desk or make up area. These we found out are veneer and will be painted a nice white all the wood save the beds will become white.

The wood cabinet with the swimming and long distance running medals will be gone. In its place new rounded cabinets so the door to the balcony can be opened, as it opens in. Those will be some cool cabinets.

The other side of the room and the windows.

Parquet floors to be redone in the whole upstairs.

How bad it had become because of rain and the house facing west.

Yep, wallpaper is so 12 years ago mate. Just plain white interior paint makes the rooms look so much bigger.

We have already completed the love shack (Garden Bungalow) but didn't get any pictures along the way.

This is the kids idea. A lot of white and then a contrasting wall, their bedroom will be teal with white cabinets and trim, and the beds will remain wood.

Kids room stripped of old wallpaper.

Old office and desks, which we sold for 2,000 baht apiece.

Part of the bed which was sold as well.

    Wallpaper stripped of the staircase.

Top of the staircase stripped as well.

Junked from upstairs stacked in the living room which will be off white.

Old TV area the white there will become a dark reddish brown and used for some family travel photos in white frames.

    Two weeks bro!!!!

I had planned to do it room by room. But my wife is very aggressive in the space of 24 hours a 25,000 baht job turned into 250,000 and counting. We have guys basically moved into our muban. They have a pretty good resume so what the hell, all in one pop.

The wall on the right goes to the high ceiling it will be the reddish brown color as well, and also be used for hanging family photos.

The Buddah room office which will be the red brown on the left wall, and cream on the rest to match the blinds.

Other side of the office and Buddah room, all the Buddahs, Tankas and other religious stuff is already out.

The wood cabinets will be redone in a lighter color like oak or ash.

Oh yeah mate, they are secreted away some place only the wife knows. The rest of us are dead as we had about 4 hours to move all our stuff out of every room except the master bedroom which is the base for all four of us now.

Its only now I have come to the conclusion that the Thai's use some algebraic formula to determine floor space. This house is supposed to be 235 sq mt. I reckon its closer to 170. They are counting the stairwells and all sorts of shit that is not counted in the west. I was just shocked to discover that three of the 4 upstairs bedrooms cum offices are just at 15 sq meters. If I would have done it my way I would have had the Japanese guy from the faculty of interior design at my university come in and give us a hand.

That picture is to come. Both kids mattresses are now on the floor in our master bedroom. When the kids office and bedroom are done we will move there while
the workers move to the stairwell and downstairs.

When we got back from a couple of hours of changing paint at home pro it was shocking to see a Thai building team at work, 2 stripping old wallpaper off, 2 painting, and 2 cutting wood in the shop they set up in half our car park. I had and have never seen people work like this before here. Hell we had the foreman with us to change the paint colors and they still worked so well. I think they may finish early.

Dude, where's the Man Cave? Not a "total" renovation without IMO.

gonna have the family grotto! Just found out the wifes insurance client supplies Samsung TV's to hospitals and hotels. Samitiwej just ordered 120, well they ordered a few less and certain friends of this client are getting 51 inch HD Samsungs, we are going to be one. I hope to get some more photos up today. 20,000 for the newest Samsung 51 inch model seems like a great deal. We will move the one in the photo upstairs to the master. The builder will get my old LG 27 inch CRT for 2,000 baht.

10-4 re Pirates of the Caribbean, but using a Man Cave for porn sessions when you live in Thailand is a waste, ain't it?

Sort of renovation that I like to get into as its not a huge job but still quite a challenging job.

Good luck with it and the end result will be horn material, sort of explains why you got all those Stick movies.

I do like the office furniture and the punter that bought it killed the Pig.

    Party on Old Dude.

Appreciated, the kids now have photos of chaos, wood cutting, spray painting, and nearly finished rooms. I will try to get them uploaded tonight.
