I allways buy the cabels etc myself as I found out the Electricians tend to double the price of materials.
Not more or less: x 2

A bit more detail. Number of light fixtures, power outlets (plugs), rooms? Earth or no earth?

    Aircon...no aircon...fans...pool...appliances...etc etc.

Anyway...on a side note...but about electricity.....At the Plantation, we found, by way of ever increasing electric bills....that we had a leak, dunno where it was leaking to, but our monthly bills went from 700b to over 1k baht, to over 2k baht and then the killer was 3300b.

Now some of this increase we put down to building, pumping extra water during the dry season etc etc. but then when the building works all stopped...it kept going up.

We got a sparky to check it and it was leaking into the ground somehow he told the missus and i never bothered to get a complete answer...one day...anyway, from the previous most expensive bill about 4 months ago of around this 3300b....this months bill after settling down into the full monthly cycle.....was 320b.

So watch them electric bills and if they seem dodgy...get it checked.

    Hi Mamasun

First I would make some specs.

How many circuits? At least separate circuits for groundfloor and first floor. Additonally separate circuit for bathroom with safety device. Separate for kitchen because you use Toaster, Coffee Machine, Microwave, all big consumers. Circuit for electric oven. Separate Circuit for Freezer because you don't want it to fail together with other devices. Circuits for aircons. Separate circuit for outside again with safety device. Circuit for electric water pump.

And if later you are suspicios about consumption like described by Nawty you can narrow it down by cutting off circuits one by one and see if the meter still moves.

70,000 - 80,000 baht. Includes lights, plugs, switches, breaker box and earth. Light fixtures will drive up cost if you want high end (expensive).

Be sure you specify the lighting, plugs and switches by model before you agree on price.

63 amp main breaker. Be sure to install Safety-Cut.

Breaker box/Load center looks like this:

And you need one of these (Schneider Square D)

    That should get you started.

15 amp will run a toaster plus a coffee maker. What else would you need?

Of course then don't run a vacuum cleaner at the same time. It might blow your fuse.

    Or go with dotcoms advice.

The above example shows you why you should have a separate circuit for the kitchen.

The number of circuits will influence the cost but more is really better. I don't know about specifics, just general advice.

That would be the value of a fuse for a single circuit, not the whole household.

3ph is good if you have a heavy AC load in your house , lots of AC on all the time at once. The load for house circuits and pumps and AC can be spread out over the 3ph.

The unheated water going in to our washing machine is near the 30 degrees.
So is the air outside, and the clothes dries in a snap.

I never do the dishes, and never saw a thai using a dishwasher.

But if you want luxery, then go ahead

No probléme, i bring allready all this from my country and i am very happy with.

wash machine can wasch up to 90 ° it's very good for many reasons + dryer when wet outside ..or inside it's very good too !

But i am very happy when i can put some things for bed on... the "sun air " outside.

Due to the water from well, the dishwasher kill all bacteries and use very small water, around 8 liters ! it's not bad too !

many bacteria and "moisture" mushroom ? (don't know the name in English) cannot be kill with only 30° and you know how quick it's come here to have smelly things .

And yes i have also hot water in kitchen...!...and i am living actually in a very small thai house in jungle ! basic and not well built bungalow

Every one do like he want, try to make his life conform of his thincking,,isn't it ?
