Nice Entrances For Your House In Thailand

Now the first thing your new found rental friend see's when you take her back to your place is the entrance to your house, this obviously need's to make a good impression, also at a later date if you want to sell the house it's the first thing the potential buyer see's, and first impressions can make or break the sale, so here are some nice gateways so to speak.

OK, I have to admit this one isn't actually that impressive when your directly in front of it, what with the car parking area and the guard tower or wotever it maybe, but hell that first picture look's great

That looks like one of those dodgy council housing type places down soi 17, what a terrible way to live, barb wire fencing and guard dogs etc, still I like those plant pots

Well on my travels today I nipped round Jomtien Nivate, its mainly an estate with low end housing, with the occasional luxury house.

Those are some beautiful doors. How much something like those french doors cost in LOS? And where in Pattaya or Bangkok I can go to see building materials? I will going for first time to LOS on Feb. 1 from New York.

Teak doors start from about 8,000baht each for the hand carved ones, I reckon 12,000baht would be the top end price.

My wife replaced the wood door with some tinted sliding door, now it looks like a shop or the local massage parlour.
Thinking of it, maybe there is something going on while I am not there.

It's still cheap for raise carved doors. I will looking into building materials and construction method between the breaks from party. Thanks for the information.

This is the rather 'tasteful' entance gate to what was obviously intended to be a very large pad.

The project had obviously stopped some time ago, for a what reason I'm not sure - but thank f**k for that anyway.

I don't know, a bit of gold paint on the statues and some juniper green paint in the enclaves would spruce it up a bit

Owner must be from either Greece or Rome with those kind of architectural. Is that project photo from LOS? If so, what part of Thailand?

This one reminds me of a couple of the gateways to the royal palaces around Hue, in Vietnam, perhaps Ming Mang.

There used to be an interesting little shop on the top floor of Seacon Square, near the cinemas that specialized in designing and building wrought iron / metal gates. Some of them were fantastic one offs. l think from memory you could even take in your own design and measurements and they had a made to order service. Sadly they disappeared a couple of years go. Anyone remember them ? Anyone know where they have gone ?

Smullenpe, I believe that the owner was Thai. The location is in Khao Sam Roi Yot park on the other side of the bay to Pattaya. I think this was going to be the maid's quarters or an outside toilet or something.

I definitely want to check out place when I get to Pattaya in Feb.4 since it such fine architectural details. However, I must say lawn isn't well maintained.
