Whichever builder you get, keep a good eye on the build as I personally don't trust any builders. They'll do things the Thai way which usually means the easiest way.

Not to kick the hornet's nest but this statement can go both ways. To help put my ass through the university I built wooden decks on the side. Sometimes having the owner of the house watching every move was a pain in the ass.

For example, I might be cutting or nailing boards down when I realized I was off a 1/2 inch or so. The owner would jump in, and delay the build before I could even begin to correct the problem. Depending on how I bid the job, this either cost the owner or me money.

Even in Thailand and I think DD might back me up on this, some homeowners are not suited to be the boss. I know, I have been the boss.

Sometimes, my way worked but cost more money when the Thai way would have also worked. Then again my way was sometimes the better way.

This construction business can be a real thin line to walk sometimes...

Yes I do. He's building me a bungalow for me in Buriram right now, his work is sound, he's a decent bloke too, and I don't say that lightly in LOS. His kids go to school with mine so there was a history before employing him.

I'm out of town right now but will find his contact details for you if you like. He prides himself in his work, his business is large and established and the price is very fine as he doesn't need to buy materials from a 3rd party; he's self sufficient with a yard and shop.
