    Hideous Thai houses

Occasionally (well to be frank, pretty frequently) I see a house that makes me want to stop the car, get out, gaze in wonder and throw up by the side of the road. Do people plan this sort of colour scheme or did they just use the paint they had left over?

    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

It's a short walk from HH town centre. I take it your enquiry about the rent was sarcastic, or do you know someone who is colour blind?

I think I can see rows of lights

It must have been used as a night restaurant or massage parlour

I'm sure it could be made quite nice with a lick of paint.

Although not as bad as some I've seen, this Thai house looks completely out of proportion jammed in a space that is really only wide enough for a garage.

Note the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling in the upstairs balcony. How relaxing it must be to sit and watch the world go by or rather sit and watch the workers laying out the squid to dry - the stench in this area is enough to make your toes curl on some days.

Here's another outrageous clash of styles.

There's traditional Thai in the woodwork at the front, a Palladian portico, Corinthian columns both square and circular, baroque reliefs here there and everywhere and modern stainless steel.

At least that one is not too painful on the eyes. The proportions are OK and the decoration has been kept to a bare minimum. One would like to see the lines broken a bit, but at least it's clean and uncluttered.

Looks like they started the sponge painting technique at the top, saw how hard it would be and gave up on the rest of the house.

Our project is 3 years old, the houses all had the same color scheme, nice. Some focker next door decided to paint his electric lime green when the house was still only 2 years old and paint still intact. No idea what went through his mind.

I'll post the pic but get your sunglasses...

This is just the gate house of what was planned to be some sort of monstrous shrine to poor taste.

I have heard conflicting stories of why it wasn't finished - I would like to feel that the perpetrator gave away all his money and became a reclusive monk when he realised what he had done.

It looks worse from the inside.

^I've seen a strange place like that with unfinished ornate buildings somewhere down near Dolphin Bay resort, is it the same place?
