Yes that is doing it once a month
The sink doesn't look bad in the picture, I think it will clean up OK
BTW Memock, your next question will be about shower heads and hard water
I have the answer ready for you
ME Too, actually spray em with limeaway or put some in a jar with a little water and stick the showerhead in it to soak for a few monutes and it will be as good as new.
pour a little in the toilet and it will take the lime away that has collected just down where your brush don't reach but you can see the dark stains.
Okay, Thetyim, let me go and start the thread
Actually I dunno how much of it is hard water and how much is damage from tradesmen. The sink is brand new - never been used (ie, never had the plug put in and filled it up)
The shower head and shower doors still seem fine.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Nope, I have a better solution
Try lemon juice and toothpaste on a cloth and rub hard, the lemon juice will remove the limescale and toothpaste will be the mild abrasive.
coke (the drink not the nose candy) and foil works well on chrome, try it.
Bicarbonate of soda/baking soda available everywhere in Thailand, even Jurrassic Park ( Surin, land of the forgotten dinosaurs )
Try Wenol , Its the best for cleaning metals . Its just like autosol and can be bought in any local Thai hardware shop. Red tube and a white top .
Chrome polish not a stain or lime deposit remover.Originally Posted by Tiny
My vinegar costs 70 baht for 5 litres.
How much do all these other substances cost ?
yes know about the coke trick but it takes a fair bit of coke and quite bit off time relatively speaking and like mentioned that is for Chrome not stainless and also for rust, not lime scale..
Bicarbonate is alkaline based not an acid and this is scale which is also alkaline based as well wouldn't have much effect..lemon/lime juice same as vinegar about the same strength of mild acid..
yeah, vinegar or Hydrochloric acid will get rid of limescale (stone!)
but if it was just workers using the sink carelessly, why would it be limescale?
maybe paint residue or cement or ....
Try scouring a small area with one of those green sponge scourers, see what happens...it may scratch the stainless a little but it will show you if it will come off easily
I have reported your post
maybe because they were doing cement work? possibly paint but doesn't look like it in the picture..if so then a bit of mineral spirits or paint remover should do the job easily enough without scratching but more difficult to locate than the above so better to try them first with nothing to loose, especially given the cost..
if it is cement, plaster or any related product it contains lime and thus scale residue..
hydrochloric is too harsh though and would most definitely scar the stainless with a permanent dark stain.. So stay away from harsh cleaners such as Duck Ra called something else these days..
So where is memock ?
Where are the results, 42 replies and he hasn't tried one of them yet
^Yea, dead right. About time he got off his lazy arse and got his missus working on that sink!! Theres no excuse!!
I know, I'm sorry but we don't have any vinegar and no one has been to town yet. Hope to buy some on Friday.
shite Memock! your wife should have that around all the time for her own personal use if you know what I mean? it should be a staple around the house..
We haven't finished building the kitchen yet so haven't stocked the cupboards yet.
[QUOTE=cimboc;954070] that made me laugh as my back was starting to play up so about 30 minutes ago I did put the puter on the floor and lay down on my mattress
Driving force, what do you mean about the bathroom? I mean we haven;'t finished the kitchen yet so aint cooking in it so don't have any vinegar yet.
