It looks like one of those TOT switchgear houses, we got one at the end of our road.

I suppose you'd install full length windows in the bathroom and bedroom with the bed pushed up against it?

Actually overly modest, splitlid. Excellent renditions. Thanks. Can't wait for more...

Good idea. I haven't even begun to think about soundproofing it, just liked the design and saw it all in my head.

    ok Hillbilly,
heres a latest effort, changed 2 skylights to one large one.double garage doors are 6m, so to end of building have room for single garage door.

    hello Splitlid
I have wondered how long does it take you to make a computer drawing lets say like in your first post or Hillbillies garage if you have all the info on hand.
    Thanks johpam

Hi Johpam, from what hillbilly gave me it took about 40 mins to do the initial building, then about 1 hour setting up the 3D rendering program, then about 3 minutes for each render.
then another 1-1.5 hours changing and adding a few things like boundry walls, driveway etc,the ridge tiles take a long time as they have to be done individually.

then setup the renderer again, another 1 hours, adding trees, textures etc.
the more complex and detailed the image then the longer it takes to render the image,
this one took about 6 mins, but the trees are what take up the time.
say in total about 4 hours work, to get the following picture.
doing it for clients takes alot longer as more detail is usually required.but once its all setup then its easier.

the first post took ages and ages.

    Perfect splitlid!!

Could have used your expertise several years ago instead of my drawings in the dirt.

Thank you, it would take me ages and ages (times a 1 000 000) and still not be able to do it.

so here goes with mailys house.

first i had to paste his excel file into my CAD and the trace around his walls with mine(his excel files can be seen in his house thread), the new house layout has changed a bit so it was best to start from scratch.
once the walls were in, i added floor slabs, roofs, ceiling, ridge tile driveway etc.

a quick test render to see the house, this one is a pencil sketch.

i then transfered the file to the modeller program and did a test render there.
    render time:30secs
total time so far 3 hours.

added windows and doors, took some time as Maily wants all different windows so had to make them.
took about 1 hour to do.
total time so far 4.20 hours
    test render-30secs
