    Replacing teak shingles/shakes. Options?

    Hi,

After 30 years our teak shingle roof needs replacing. We want to keep the look (not allowed to change even) but rather not go with teak again, prefer a more cost-effective solution.

From my search I can only find Decra Corona Shake.

Are there any other options out there that I may have missed? Has anyone done something similar?

    Many thanks!

I only go with PU foam Bonded Aluzinc sheets for roofing nowadays.

    Highly recommendable.

I agree. Lots of very good options that still look like the local style and protect the dwelling with out brutal noise when the rain comes.

Yup. SCG and Bluescope both do excellent aluzinc with bonded pu foam sheets. Go for at least 35mm bonded pu foam.

    The only way to go.

Above ceiling insulation is cheap and SCG will include their R38 staycool product if the OP doesn't already have it. It sounds like an old uncared for house.
